from talking to jeff there is a decent amount of performance from running the lower thermo and fat sets...running cooler allows for more aggressive tuning...he says it make more power than the 180

if you haven't already done the phantom this seems like a nice piece!

i once e-mailed engineered performance and if i recall correctly they said their units held something like 500 ft-lbs. they are like $4-600 though!

Low mileage TGPgoodness, mmm(and another "mmm" for that rare gray interior :icon_eek: ). :icon_mrgreen: Good luck selling the wheels.

haha yeah and its staying low mileage this summer...i washed it on this day drove it about 30mi only to get rained on...cleaned it again and parked it....ive put about 100mi total on it this year!

For Sale / Want to Buy / wheel/tires for sale!
June 23, 2007, 02:38:24 PM
i bought new wheels, tires and proper spacers.  ive had them for almost a year but i haven't been driving my car at all since its still smoking quite terribly.  and i just put them on here are the pics!

the wheels are 16x8 off of an 93 rx7....i had them blasted and powder coated black....only 16lbs per wheel (no tires)
the tires are 245-50-16s (stock size) goodyear eagle f1 gs-d3....tires were the most expensive/highest rated street tire available in our size when i bought them from tirerack last year.  i can say they are sticky....but i dont' know how sticky....never launched on them and only have 500mi on them max!!

the wheel spacers are custom built for these wheels to fit the TGP perfectly!  i had them built by Fred Goeske at www.wheeladapter.com
they are 1.5" rear spacers and 1.25" front with with the bolt pattern addapted from the 114.3x5 (wheels) to our 115x5 pattern....had this done to run the light weight wheels and ensure there will be no vibration of the wheels due to slightly different patterns!  i verified this with a 110mph run and no vibrations, not even a slight shimmy!!

the 1.5" for the rears was to try to give the spacing an even look from front to rear...as the rears are slightly more "tucked" than the fronts!  when all is done and said the overall spacing is only moved out .25" in the front and .5" in the rear because the wheels are +50 offset....the final result is what you see here!  very even looking and only slightly more offset than stock!

im selling the setup and i know it will be perfect for any TGP guy(gal) who wants this look/performance...ill take 850 for everything, which breaks down to 100 per tire...(steal, i paid 170/tire i believe and they are under 500mi and 99% tread) 200 for the spacers...(steal, cost me 325)and 250 for the 4 16lb bbs wheels (mega steal...i had them blasted for 60 and powdercoated for 180 not to mention i bought them for a good deal of 350 for the set...the total cost to me for them was 590)

my price total 680 + 325 + 590 =  1595

you want them take them for half @ 850!

anyone that wants to do local pick up ill take 50 bucks off (minnesota, wisconsin must be willing to meet me within 20mi of whitebear!)
let me know guys....

thanks!

ps someone with a black tgp should rock these!! black on black would be awsome!

yeah your right i should have specified the tourque....not exactly the hp.  my bad!  :icon_redface:

ps would still like to see a dyno curve with both trq and hp jumping up and staying up till redline

man i don't know about these TGPs just dieing like a mad beast after 4k....i recall kuntzie had a similiar turbo with very similar curve....we'll have to see if his new big snail solved the top-end shit out!  i know these cars aren't top end cars but you'd think the right turbo/wastegate and dp would at least hold the ponies up to 5k or 6k!!

kuntzie quite F'n around and unveil already!!

im getting antsy!

finally switched today. I'm not paying $3.60/gallon for regular gas

you'll have to buy more though because you dont get as good fuel mileage!  right??!!

so they offset pretty much i thought.....but......awsome for turbo cars.....push the boost and see what she makes!!

does anyone have an explanation as to why it doesn't make power to redline??  is the gt2871 still too small on the ehaust side??  i would have thought you would make power around 3 and kept going (or leveled off) all the waty to redline!  especially with the big intercooler!  do you think 18psi was all hot air?? maby a drop in boost would help hp??  oh yeah what are you doing for tuning for boost levels over 14.7??  race gas or pump??  did you tune at all on the dyno?

those are some pretty awsome numbers though!  keep making more!
