For Sale / Want to Buy / TGP's Pace Car Cousin

Your comments actually crossed my mind a month or so ago. If the appraisals don't forsee a specific reserve I have in mind then I may give it a few tweeks and make it an active show car.

The first thing to be upgraded would be the drivetrain. And yes, something with a bit more enthusiasm than a 2.8.

Thanks for the giving the car a 'thumbs up'!

Until I have all of the appriasals I am unsure what the selling price will be.  It is a difficult appraisal to pin a number on because with so few cars in circulation there is no sales history to base a quantitative price structure on.  Otherwise it's just guesswork.  I would like to price the vehicle with information that can be compared to something else. If you have suggestions or ideas I would certainly welcome them.

We are in contact with the Olds Historical Department and are also contacting former owners to gain some sort of reference. I will be updating the www.mypacecar.net web page with the information as it comes available.

Thanks for the interest.

Thanks for the comments!  This was a really illusive car to research because there were so few made, and those that made it to dealers were recalled pretty quickly.  Tracking less than fifteen cars changing mostly through private hands is a challenge.

I agree about the engine.  In fact, aside from the body styling, HUD, molded front pumper assembly, etc...the drivetrain of the vehicle is less than unique.  What helps the overall car now is its rarity and condition.

I have not had much experience with the car regarding water leaks.  I was caught in the rain one or twice and showed no leaks, but during a cleanup if a pressured hose gets angled the wrong way around the soft top @ the rear quarter window drops will trickle down the interior glass.  It almost takes some effort to make it breach.

Thanks again for all your positive comments.

I represent the family in possession of a 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Pace Car Convertible.  They are preparing the car for sale in the Spring of 2005.

The vehicle is fully documented and has 750 miles.  Photos of the car including the W-Body VIN and it's history can be seen @ //www.mypacecar.net.

Questions can be submitted via the web site or to Xfedd@aol.com with 1988 Pace Car in the subject line.

Even if you are not interested in the car stop by the site and have a look.  Even a Pontiac enthusiest will agree it is a pretty unique vehicle!

Thanks for the opportunity to post to the site!
