Electronics/Audio/Security / Compatitable RKE modules
September 09, 2003, 09:30:21 PM
Yeah its a pain. Well the jy guy learned alot about rke modules anyways. Hey Chris do you have any ideas of what to look for with my module. It locks and unlocks regualry provided you press the unlock twice quickly, and the truck rarely works. Is there anything common, besides the w-body fix? Thanks,

Electronics/Audio/Security / Compatitable RKE modules
September 09, 2003, 04:17:03 PM
Well, I may have spoke too soon. Today i went to get mine exhanged, and we had to rip out like 5 of them before we (me and the jy guy) found one that works. and it is still iffy, the trunk release doesn't work all the time and you have have to push the unlock button twice to get the locks to unlock, the first press does nothing. Anyways, it would be whatever they charge 26.50 + 5 +Shipping. The only reason I am tacking on 5 is because it takes me 1.5hr to get there and 1.5 to get back, plus i have to make sure all the units work and then ship them. let me know (email-pm) for sure if you still want them, and i'll get a list because i only want to go there once.

Electronics/Audio/Security / Compatitable RKE modules

I have the oppurtunity to get RKE modules out of a junk yard for $25 a piece. I am in need of one myself, though i could get one for u as well, i'd check and see if it worked first. Anyways, i need to know what modules are compitable with our system. I got a module off a 91gtp and it doesn't work in my car, is the module bad or do i need a different kind, the model #'s are different. Thanks,

P.S. I know how to program remotes, and this module doesn't even cycle the locks when grounding the wire in the trunk.

General / New Badges/overlays
September 08, 2003, 08:00:58 PM
I was more looking into an the idea that 4PASNU suggested. Let me know what they think of making overlays for our cars. I want it to look original, like buying a new badge. They will problay want to make both black and red badges, but i think that black probaly fades more, mine are really faded. Its almost gray, and the gold seems worn off. Anyways let me know 4PASNU,
                      Thanks,

Is there any place to get new badges, I know they are discountinued. Actually, I'm more interested in some overlays for my badges, Eclispe was working on that, but i haven't heard from him in awhile. Anybody know where he is or have overlays?

General / gtp vs. tgp
September 06, 2003, 07:11:02 PM
gm actually made a 3.4 w/ around 280hp w/ variable valve timing and all, but they knocked it way down, probaly for the transmission reason, and the fact that they didn't want the w-body whooping up on the firebirds, and camaro's. Of course they made a tgp w/ 305hp

Suspension/Wheels/Tires/Brakes / Rear trailing arm upgrade
September 03, 2003, 03:39:14 PM
have fun w/ the trailing arm upgrade. my bolt were all siezed, had to cut all of them off, it wasn't pretty, its the right size and all I just think the rubber seized to the bolt by going into the roll pin. Fortunately, the upgraded ones have a completely closed pin.

General / gtp vs. tgp

91-93gp had both the option of the 284(5 speed) and the 3.4L v6. The manual 3.4 had 210hp, and the automatic 205. Tgp's are rated at 205hp, and 220pds torque. I am not 100% sure that you could have the gtp package well mostly badges and a factory five-speed in 91-93 but there are factory 3.4/5speed gp's out there. My friend own's a 92. Also in 92 I do belive there was a Richard Petty special edition, which had a five-speed, and i assume that was considered a gtp.

Performance / My $5 CAI
September 03, 2003, 03:12:43 PM
I would have to agree w/ you. Of course my tgp didn't really feel slower to me, and pvc is essentianly mandrel bent, just tight bends, but i do definately agree it probaly has a hard time sucking and air, and the best thing to do is increase the efficentcy of the ic.

Performance / My $5 CAI

was it slower or running richer or something? i can see that 3" would be better but my filter is 2" so i'm stuck w/ that size for now.

Performance / My $5 CAI
August 28, 2003, 12:50:24 PM
I'll get the camera out this weekend and take some pics.

I reallly not sure how it works out, but i would have to say that colder air is denser air, and if denser air is compressed you would have more air air compressed by the turbo.

Either way i think that you would have denser air flowing into the throttle body. But a CAI helps N.A. cars more than turbo cars because you are heating up after the turbo again like no1kicker said. And perhaps the pressure drop negates the gain.

I'm sure Chris A or some other expert can explain it to us correctly
