They all look like renderings to me, but yeah, they are pretty sweet.

If you think the engine is not locked up, why not put some fresh gas in, change the oil, get a new battery and try to fire it up?  Might have to clean the carb too since the old gas is probably varnished.

I know it's not the same beast, but we had an old 8hp briggs on a large mower.  I just took the carb off, cleaned the bowl out, put some fresh gas in and it started right up.  It had sat for 10+ years.

I think it's worth a shot.

I had to buy new guidplates a few years ago for a 3.1L.  I wanna say they were like $4-5 a piece from the dealer.  So, $24-30 for a set of 6.

I have the GT-HRs in 235/55/16.  Of course, I don't have a turbo, so they are fine for me.  Traction is good, wet traction is good, too.  Wear rate is also good.  I really like mine.  Had them for over two years now.

Nah, the doors and dash have 4x6's.

I've never cared for the imaging that the dash speakers have. My personal preference has always been the speakers in the doors, but the 4x6 size hampers the capability to get 'decent' sound from them. Your STE should have the component speaker setup in the front doors. I personally would replace those with a good quality component speaker set. The improved sound quality from them should help even out the sound between the front and back speakers.

Yeah, I've replaced the factory 6.5"s and 6x9's.  I've been sorta looking for tweeter replacements.  Probably do that first and see how that goes, then if I don't like it, I'll add 4x6's.  What I could do is get the gain slider to work the dash 4x6s if I do go that route.

hi-jack over.

Saw it at North Wilksboro.  I was browsing the menu and saw days of thunder and figured I'd better watch!

Quick question, not meaning to hi-jack this.  So TGP's had front door 6x9's and 4x6's in the dash?  I've been debating whether or not to add 4x6's to my STE, since STE's and TSTE's didn't dash 4x6's.  I guess my question is, is the sound overpowering in the front of a TGP?  Right now, it seems as though my rear 6x9's over-power the front.

wow, you can't get em repaired for that cheap

That's a good point.  I sent the cluster from old 92 sedan off to repaired since the odometer stopped working, speedo didn't act right, etc.  If I remember right, that was somewhere around $160-180.

Welcome Robby. Go junkyarding and make yourself a TSTE clone! :icon_mrgreen:

Now that I've moved to Lexington, KY for graduate school, I gotta find where all the junkyards are.
