For some reason i cant get it to move in or out.Its hard and kills my hand to push the button in.I have tried to use a screw driver and a ratchet handle.Talk about frustrating :icon_evil:

Ok,where the throttle lines meet at the bracket there is the D shaped button you push in and at the same time you open the throttle fully isnt extended out enough and thats whats causing the bind (i hope that made sense). How far out does that plastic slider come out?I have tried to push it in with my thumb and a screwdriver and i cant get it to pop back out.Any tricks to this?

Well,i just went out and vice gripped the TB shut and it runs good. The turbo is making a god awful squealing noise (it wasnt before)and i see little water droplets coming from around the turbo. Also the turbo is smoking after running for 30 seconds. If i could find why the TB is stuck open slightly it would make a big difference. This thing hasnt run in a year and i didnt expect it to run perfectly and the turbo seals were shot before this happened. Thanks for the reply.

General / Throttle body question
December 04, 2007, 04:54:07 PM
My 90 has been down for almost a year.I just got everything back together. When the engine starts it idles really high(not sure of RPM).It will run for about 3-5 seconds and immediately die.I just took a look at the TB and noticed the the throttle blade is slightly open and it doesnt hit the throttle stop.I have tried to find where and if its binding but everything seems fine.It didnt come from the factory like this...right :icon_redface:?ANy ideas?I have tried to force the blade shut and it just aint happening.

General / vac line diagram
November 24, 2007, 08:31:35 PM
Well the TGP has been sitting with the hood up for almost a year now.I took off the upper intake, fuel rails, injectors, etc. This weekend i got a wild hair and decided to get her running again.I need to know where those 4  or 5 vac lines on the top of the throttle body go.I have all new lines for it but after a year i cant remember how it went.

Yeah,i think about putting it back together all of the time. The only thing is once that happens it wont be for sale anymore.I really HATE to sell it but if i can get someone to come get it they will get a heck of a deal. The only thing is everyone on this board is from up north or out west.I know selling it here is a long shot.

For Sale / Want to Buy / 1990 TGP for sale

This car is red with tan leather.Interior and paint are very nice.Last feb or march i was going to replace the turbo (because it was smoking)and took the intake, fuel rail and injectors off.I took those off because i planned on upgrading injectors.Thats as far as i ever got.The car ran great and has sat in my carport with the hood up for about 8 months.I am tired of looking at it and it needs to go.Included with this car is a brand new T28.The buyer will need to bring a trailer.I am asking $1000 OBO.I am in mississippi.BTW,i have ALL parts pulled off. Please email me chris_ludy@hotmail.com

Yes,all 4 bolts that hold it down are out.Luckily,i am putting in new injectors anyway.Like always with this car, every time i touch it something breaks.I have owned fords that were less of a PITA than this car :icon_mrgreen:.She better be glad i still love her or else after its fixed i would sell her.

Sorry nick but i will definitely be buying it.Another quick question about the stupid fuel rail.I went home yesterday and was prying it up with a screwdriver and heard a strange noise.Next thing i know fuel is running out of the rail onto the lower intake.Looks like when i was prying and injector either broke off or dislodged from the fuel rail.Is there a better way to do this? After that happened i just soaked up the gas and was done for the night.
