When ya' gonna post em Ken? ;) Maybe there are only 720 cars despite those several "750" figures. Either way, thanks to you, we're a lot closer to actually being able to prove how many exist. :icon_mrgreen: Have you started on the '90's yet?

There will be some that have no record.   Why?
dealership/owner owns a car that has never been registered.
the car fell off the back of a truck!
Records may have been lost or gone poorly reported.
Prototype cars that exist in deep storage somewhere.

facts:
NO records found for any 1988 TGP. this simply means that either 1) the vins of the first car(s) was/were not a proper TGP vins  (such as the pikes peak racer) or no record exists of said tgp vin.

the first 3 cars have ONE record each, the first two were carfaxed, they came back as "destroyed", but without any verifiable date.  These maybe test mules or prototypes that were discarded.

more to come later.

I have not started 1990 TGP vins, nor will I until the next version of the discovery program is completed.     but analysis of the discovered vins will start shortly.

keep up the good work guys!!!!    It will take about 2 more weeks of the program running 24/7 to get ALL numbers available.  right now... I have almost completed checking 1989 cars serial number 200,000 to 300,000.  - which is very car sparce....  but the early cars were mostly several thousand VINs apart.   only later did they become frequent.

I will share... which begs to ask...  are spreadsheet tables compatible with the forum?

HEY!   I am a regular member of W-body, but I've come here to join you guys and besides my interest in these cars, I have an ongoing project that both me and Manicmechanic/neversatisfied of various forums is working on.

I am actively creating a database that I would like to publish for us all, once complete.  A methods has been devised to 'discover' ALL TGP and TSTE vins, as long as records exist for them.

i have discovered  MANY MANY MANY TGPs NO ONE here knows about.

wanna see?

1G5WP14V9Kf264746
1G5WP14V9Kf264827
1G5WP14V0KF284920
1G5WP14V5KF285481
1G5WP14V6KF287174
1G5WP14V7KF289693
1G5WP14V3KF289710

there you go.  the worlds FIRST TGPs recovered for all time.  more to come.

HERE IS WHAT I ASK OF YOU.   I can come up with the VIN of EVERY TGP.  I CANNOT fill out the rest of the data about the car.   THAT is your job.   I would like to get the build date for every car found, the color and options.  This will be the ultimate TGP VIN project for eternity.    I DO NOT care about who owns the car.   this will not be shared.  Some of you wish to obscure your VIN number, but the only point this serves... is to have me cuss you out for failing to provide any usable data for the project!!!!

If you do not wish to share the data publicly, I accept PMs.

What are my goals?  To answer questions.
HOW MANY were there?
How often were they produced?
Are they sequential?
Were the two colors offered on TGPs offeredc from the very beginning?
how often did the cars get sunroofs?

So I'm thinking more and more that I might just track down a 282 and go that route. A little more work, but since I'll have to put another tranny in anyways, I figure why not? Now to find one. I think I know who has one, though, up by my parents, too
Do NOT look in my garage!

You bought Jay's, didn't you? I even PMed him last night to see if he still had it, knowing that he didn't but hoping it was backed out on. I remember you talking about it now. heck, sell it to me for cheap? You still have to finish your swap on the 91

yes,  but.... I did finally get an engine lift to continue on the project.

The TGP VIN Database is already taken lol...mfewtrail I believe has ben collecting VIN's for hundreds of TGP's...maybe he's into the thousands?
Honestly... I WILL find them all.    Mfewtrail gave me everything he had... and I gave him 4 I 'discovered' within an hour of him doing that.

thats off topic.  I hope to have a resolution to a current issue by next week that is halting my VIN project.  I will post a seperate thred on it when it is appropriate.

I brought a claybar and meguiars cleaner wax over today... and spiffed up that TGP.   Best looking non running TGP I've ever seen!

I have only seen 7 turbo GPs   3 TSTE's and 4 TGPs... And I would like to create a database for TGP VINs

for those Who don;t know I'm mainly on W body, and am a CS guy... specially on verts.  I would like to turbo convert one of mine... but not badly enough to dismember a living running car.
