Chip Tuning / Re: Need a Top Gun 160 Bin File
June 11, 2010, 04:29:58 PM
I was having issues. Right now I am on the stock tune. I have an emulator for tuning. It will start if I hit the throttle and keep it above 1700. If I let off the pedal it will die. Runs fine on stock tune. Maybe I just need to bite the bullet and let flybynite tune it. I was tring to be different, but I don't have the time. :icon_sad:

QuoteNo bin here, but maybe I can help with your trouble.

What chip are you using? Does it require an offset, jumper moving etc?

You sig says you have a 3 bar map, how have you modified your bin accept this?

Have you burned a working bin to this chip previously?

What do you mean by you have no idle. Does that mean it starts and idles poorly, or will not start and idle at all.

Right now I am not running the 3 bar. Tried switching to 59code, but

I can do that. Has any removed the cats and just run exhaust, or does that create a back pressure issue?

Now I know everything you read is not right, but from what I understand the GT28RS turbo is capable of 350 Hp. The 28# injectors are only good for 275 - 300. So to get the 350 I would need at least a 32#. I haven't had this thing dynoed yet, but desktop dyno puts the motor alone at 250+. with turbo I should be able to put 300 at the wheels. Obviously that hardly ever happens, but it gives you an idea.

As far as the exhaust I didn't even think about that. Do I need to rebuild a bigger crossover?

Alright so I bought this car from my father in-law. He put a crap load of money into it, but never tuned on it. I've got parts all over for this thing. With all the stuff I have on the car it still only runs in the 15's. From what I have been reading, it should be in the high 12's low 13's. Heres what I got.

Engine:
Forged lower
Bored .30 over
P&P heads and intake
Bigger valves (Don't know exactly what size.)
9:1 Compression
Comp Cams (Custom ground for the set-up. Would have to look up specs.)
1.6 Rockers
Triple wound springs
165 thermostat

Turbo:
GT28RS T3 Flange .63 A/R
Jeff M Crossover
Stock exhaust no mufflers
Seqentual BOV
E-boost2 Boost controller
Cone on turbo filter
Maxin 13.5 #'s

Fuel:
36# injectors (29# on run)
Walbaro 255 fuel pump (stock on run)

Misc.
Jeff M TG160 (slightly modded)
3 Bar Mapp (2 bar on run)

I have everything to tune with, I just don't know where to begin. I have read alot of stuff, but alot of it doesn't make any sense.

Emulator
Tuner pro RT
Chip burner
Innovate Motorsports Wide band

Does anybody have a bin file thats close to what I have? Then all I have to do is tweak. Does anybody want to help me tune, or live close to KC. Please I need some help.

We'll just have to get some work done this winter. I still think I can hit mid to low 13's. I would be happy with that. Then mabye a little bottle juice will put me in the 12's.

New tires will be the Nitto 555R Drag radial 245/50 16. The only 16 they make. Good tire, but not as stiky as an MT E/T street. Hopefully less breakage that way.

BFG comp T/A VR4

And I had a 2.2 60'

I'm not going to lie. I don't know how to post a video, or even if you can. But if you want to see I posted one on my facebook page.  Look up Jeremy Hansen in KC.

So I'm an idiot. Not even close to a 13 couldn't get traction for crap. Spun the tires through the 1/8th it seem like. Hell I almost need a wheelie bar. Need to go back to the drawing board. I think what I have will work, I just need to tune bad, and figure out the traction issue. best time 15.04 at 93.01 MPH. My worst reaction time of the night at .716. A 9.60 1/8 mile and a 2.2 60'. Is there anyone out there that has a rear suspension fix. :icon_cry:

Hopefully someone can go. I am ready to see this thing run on a track. Don't have my tires yet, but they can wait. Pulling on a truck running mid 13's.
