I gutted a fiero clister for frame, then cut down the digi frame and plastiwelded it into the fiero frame.
Until someone else pointed it out though,I didn't realize the setup had no idiot lights incorporated and they were all divorced in a seperate housing that I couldn't really utilize.

Shelved it until today, found a bunch of LEDs laying around and had some ideas.
Just need to do a little paint and final touchups to prep the wiring and i'll install it in a parts car to verify.
Here's what I started and ended with. No pics yet with idiot lights upgrade.

Hehe,I ain't skeered to bump a 2yo post.

Just curious what digi cluster you used?
I've put one together for my fiero using a 95 safari cluster.
Did you just bolt in another w-body cluster that was digi?

They look sweet.
I've driven a GTO a few times when tuning them, and they are pretty damn comfortable.
I would do it.

The ebay listing was posted over at w-body by someone.
Not to detract from your hard work, but it is NOT a restoration.
You paid too much if you paid 50k,looks like a paint factory exploded.
Call it customized, but DON'T called it restored.
Not trying to be a hater, just honest.

I've got various stuff from a TGP parts car I bought if anyone is interested.
Taking up space and I have no use for this stuff so throw me a price or it's going to scrap.
PowermasterIII unit-no clue on condition, all I can say is brakes worked fine when I drove into my shop but not sure of condition of ABS-didn't plug in tech1 to check codes either. Consider a core.
$100 obo-you pay shipping from 74955 (heavy)

HUD $15+ship obo. Again, pulled from parts car, presumed working
(If you need switch i'll throw in for $20/HUD&switch+ship)

Switches $10apeice or $15both+ship

Instrument cluster $50+ship

Corner lenses-$10+ship(both)

if there is something specific feel free to ask,i'm using powertrain and alot of interior is damaged.
Has complete body kit still, doesn't look damaged other than paint.

Well, engine and trans will be in a fiero and not a tgp.
I've already got a 3 speed auto, and looking forward to the overdrive as this is my daily driver.
I will miss the low gearing, but the tgp trans is a lower final drive I think so shouldn't be terrible.

If anybody gets a chance check their heads and post up.
Probrably need to shine a light down in the hole to see the tang at the bottom.

General / Helicoil's in exhaust?
March 05, 2010, 01:44:19 PM
Just curious,I've taken apart my TGP engine and was finally getting around to working on the heads.
Every single hole for the exhaust manifold has been helicoiled. Have seen slight evidence of engine being touched other than factory, but nothing that wouldn't be explained by McLaren building it instead of ponitac.

Just wondering if they are done that way from the factory. I find it odd that someone would strip every bolt out,and it doesn't look unprofessionally done like a majority of home jobs.

One of flybynite's cars dynod 267 hp to the wheels with bone stock engine and turbo if i remember correctly,  300 to the wheels is cake on a 3.1 with 3 inch DP, 1.6 rocker, turbo upgrade, fuel pump, tune... nothing crazy.

I will have the .440 lift cam,UDP,3" exhaust/no muffler, ported/polished upper,lower,heads,exhaust,water/meth,water/air IC,bored TB and I think that's it.

of course the car is only 2700ish pounds,so 1/4 time will be low anyway :)

And i'll also have nitrous in case I need it,pretty sure I have enough pills for a 10-120hp shot.
Already have a wideband and upgraded fuel pump. (fuel pump pulls to much voltage, fried my relay circuit so it needs rewired.

I'm think I should be good for close to 300hp with all this and of course i'm forgetting some stuff.

Well,I have a slight relationship with a couple machine shops that have engine dynos.
Slight as in I could I could use them for some machine work and get them to throw it on the dyno for a couple quick runs.
I wouldn't throw down the kind of money it costs for this particular engine.
If I could afford the time it would be nice though.
I have a 95 3.4 complete engine,2.8 fiero complete engine,3.1 complete engine etc..
I would love to tune the intakes swapping different parts etc to find the best fit.
On my buddies engine (he worked at one of the shops) they put it on the dyno, they could read it like a book. Could tell when the intake was running out of air,the carb,etc..
Kept swapping parts till they ended up with his final number (over 500hp on n/a 377 before 200 shot, built for 400shot,crzy engine-in a little blazer!)

I've decided not to dyno the engine anyway,no machine work needs done. The buddy mentioned above is going to do the seats and cam bearings at his house.

Has nobody used the cam I mentioned  above or one with similar specs?
