I removed my cat yesterday and whoaaaaaaa!  I first turned out all the lights and used one of those 50K candle watt lights to see if it would shine through and NOTHING! :(    I then took a metal cutting wheel and cut it open.  WHOAAAAAAA X'S 2!  My cat was a solid hunk of crap crammed againts the rear screen , I don't know how my car was even running.  I am guessing removal of the mufflers helped and the exhaust was also exiting through the cracked crossover  .   Now I understand why my car would just cut off at idle and not want to boost under load, poor spool up etc........  PS! no cat and no mufflers is Louddddd!

126K.  You can't really go by mileage though.  You have to look at how the car was taken care of, highway or city miles, kind of gas used etc...  I had 160K on the cav with all pounding race miles and the cat was in perfect condition when I swapped it for the high flow.
