Is My Rebuilt Tranny Bad ??? ( ATTENTION MODERATORS)

I recently blew up my transmission in my Turbo and had the supposedly best transmission shop in my area rebuild it. The guys who built it also happen to be one of my best friends uncles ( will be comrelevent in a few sentences). After I got the car back I stayed off the throttle wanting to make sure everything had to time to wear in and adjust. But yesterday after work I got on it hard and it was like driving a slug. Before the rebuild the car would do a solid dual tire burn out for ten feet. Now it doesnt smoke the tires at all and seems to get caught under full throttle. It will sit at 5500 rpms for a solid second or so and then I usually back off and she will shift. I know that they used quality parts, but do you think they could have done something wrong when they built it or is it possible that after having the tranny rebuilt it is just another problem with my car showing through.

Your thoughts and ideas will be greatly appreciated, dhohn.

Ya know what. It might be a miss ajusted passing gear cable. Also did they know it was a different type of tranny from the other 440-t4, 4t-60s. Theise have turbo specific valvebodys and differentials. The torque converter is stalled to to 2200 rpm I think...Not realy sure on the stall speed but it is higher than N/A trannies.

The stall is only 1850 rpms on the converter. And the differential is the same as the one in the later 4t60hd transmissions. Actually, I learned in the literature I just bought at the last car show that the TGP had the first 4t60hd transmission. Of course the GTPs ran an E version of this transmission in the years following 1990 with very little success  :roll:
