Tonight I took the airbox and the tubing out of the TGP and put in a pipe and a cone filter and the end of it.   Now when I go and the turbo spools it immediately shuts down and then pops back on running again but everytime it spools the darn things shuts down.  It never did this before.  I mean theres no sensors or anything on the old box or tubing so why would changing it over cause this to happen?  Any ideas I need help  please!!

You replaced the restrictive air box now you are hitting the over boost limiter. The only fix is chip it, Jeff M is the way to go for the fix.

Your hitting boost cut like Idbeast stated. Try driving it around for awhile...just don't try and hit the boost cut.   What happens is the engine is getting a lot more air than expected.  This is also prone to happen when the temperature drops suddenly.  Like going from a town to the country where temperature drop is 10+ degrees.  I have 2 TGPs and both of mine worked fine with K&N filters on the stock chip.   8)  :D

Like to add a coupla things if I may.  First off it's fuel cut which in turn cuts boost. No fuel no boost. Second you don't have to buy a chip to overcome fuel cut.   You can limit the voltage output from the MAP sensor to the computer thus eliminating fuel cut. It can be done by using a zener diode rated a 4.3 volts or a 10k potentiometer from radio shack for about $5.00 including knobs. Do a search on the net for fuel cut. There are lots of pictures and diagrams to show you how to do it.

I used the pot because its adjustable.  Just turn it down until fuel cut is gone. Just taking the filter out of my car caused fuel cut. Some cars cut and other?s don?t.

If you want to spend the money ($275.00 I think) the chip is the way to go. It will also give you more power.

Let the car cool down. Now go in and check ALL the vacuum hoses going to and from the turbo. You might have knocked one loose, or a bad line.

It happened to my car after I had the cross-x replaced, I had an old worn vacuum line, replaced it, fixed. I'm not saying it might be a vacuum line, but it can be. :)
