I'm removing the heat shield off of the xover pipe as I'm in the process of taking off my heads (WHAT A PAIN IN THE ASS!).  Anyway, I've started cutting it up... real bad... and I guess in retrospect I should have asked whether i needed it BEFORE i cut it up... but I'm just making sure I don't need it...

I don't need it... right...

The heat shields on the stock cross-over is a POS. If at anytime someone has gotten water on it when washing the engine the insulation underneath the shield will have crumbled anyway. It is not something that must be there or you will melt your engine bay...but you will want to keep wires and vacuum lines away... 8)
