Today I changed plugs and wires.  I took the alt and strut bar off to make it easier.  Now when I come to a stop the car's rpm's will drop down so it stalls or comes close, then surges.  The car also has stalled when crusing with no throttle.  It didn't do this before so I am wondering what I did.  My first thought would be a vacuum hose leaking, other than that I'm open to suggestions.  Car is a bit faster now but the old plugs still look good.

did you disconnect the battery before removing the alternator?  kinda sounds like you need to go thru the idle re-learn procedure.

I did disconnect the battery.  Couldn't hurt to pull the ecm fuse and do a relearn though.

isn't disconnecting the battery the equivalent to pulling the ECM fuse?

Yeah I think it's the same.  Maybe it would help if I did it again?

Check your connections on your MAP sensor on the rear of the engine - mine did the same thing, found out it was a cracked vaccume line to the MAP sensor.

Also, (I know it doesn't make sense, really, I know that) I pulled my ECM fuse more than one time, and it wouldn't loose it's IAC count.  I finally just pulled the neg. battery term.  I don't even waste my time w/ it anymore.  Just pull the batt.  You will need to do it again since you drove it and messed the idle up.
