I Have a few questions.

1st: Under the dash behind the info center there is a black plastic box with a connector going into it. What is it?

2nd: under the dash asfter i remove the plastic cover on the drivers side, there is a clear rectangle box with a circut board in it, is this stock, if so what is it? I don't think my car has an alarm, if it does i don't have a remote or a led anywhere.

3rd: in the trunk near the antana (not power) i have a 3 wire connector going to nothing, what is it? also right behind the passanger wheel well on the inside of the trunk straight down from the antana, there are 3 holes in the sheet metal and it looks like there used to be something there. is there supposed to be something?

thanks,
RedZ

1)Can't remember

2)It's for the steering wheel controls.

3)Sounds like it's all for power antenna. Is there a power one in the car? Should be, it was standard on all TGP's.

The black box behind/above the DIC is an amplifier for the door spkrs and are turned on by the rocker switch on the driver's door on 1989 models. They are not subs, just 4x6 generic spkrs

I thought the amp was behind the glovebox. The stereo shops in town here looked in their books and it shows it behind the glovebox.

For the 97+ Grand Prix's with the 8 Speaker Premium system the amplifier for the rear 6x9's is under/behind the glovebox.
Unless you have an STE, the amplifier that is behind the DIC (info center) ONLY controls the 4x6 speakers in the doors(not subs by any means). Only if you have an STE does that amplifier run the rear 6x9's. Everything else is powered from the headunit.

1. Thanks!

2. No power antana. i figured that is what it was for. he also did a hackmaster job on hooking up the antana. I just fixed it a little bit better but without repalcing the complete antana cable its not going to get any better.

Im glad i bought 2 brand new power ant from the dealer. 80 for both. not bad. But everyone seems to have a broken one, so I am wondering if i should even bother putting it in the car....
