As most of us know, the tach's and speedo's are starting to go on these 15-16 year old clusters. Has anyone taken theirs apart yet and examined it? Has anyone figured exactly what causes the failure yet, or a solution?

I've been playing with the idea of just getting a regular GP cluster and a seperate boost gauge.. if ours was anywhere near accurate I'd have more of a will to save it, but it's not.

I'd still like to know any input on this, nonetheless. Might turn out to be an easy fix. I don't understand electronics pretty much at all, myself, so unless I tore it apart and found something physically broken I'd have no idea.

Quick Q: Is this happening on the normal GP clusters? I've never heard it mentioned besides on the TGP cluster.
