The reason I ask this is because when I first got the car the Jack A's said they replaced the map sensor and they put the old one in the box.   Me not trusting anyone especially since the check eng light was still on did a diagnostic and it keeps coming up map sensor fault.  I went and tried to put the old map sensor in and it wouldn't fit WTF!!!!!  Well anyway last night I was replacing my heater core and of course you have to go to the back of the block.  This time i pulled the map sensor wires all the way up and removed the wire loom only to find that the pigtail wires were spliced to the stock wires !   What I am thinking is some how they maybe damaged the pigtail (plastic pins) trying to force a 1 bar map where the 2 bar TGP map should be so they spliced in the 1 bar pigtail.   I am not really sure thats the problem when working after someone else.  any info on this subject is appreciated.   That could be why at idle the car will cut off without gas (incorrect signal to pulse the larger injectors).  It also could be the FPR is bad and or vaccume leak.   I have replaced almost every electrical/electronic or spark related component in the car.  The only think left is vaccume or fuel.  TY for all info.

The TGP won't run right on a 1 bar map.

Who did your MAP sensor replacement...Pontiac? It doesn't matter...there are still plenty of the OEM MAP sensors available from GM (p/n 16254539 $48.29 common stock item) and there is NO EXCUSE for someone to have spliced in a different connector for ANY REASON! Is it obvious that this is a fresh splice, or something some friggin retard did before you bought the car? Holy shit I would feel sorry for that shop if I was dealing with them! Our tire iron has that nice light feel when you swing, yet I am sure it would crack his skull quite easily!

Now that I have vented...someone will probably say this is a performance mod and I will :bag:  Please correct me if I am wrong, but unless the conversion tables in the MEMCal have been changed to read 1 Bar instead of the OEM sensor it will be screwed..right?

no it wasn't the dealer! Are all TGP pigtail wiring the same color?  The colors on the spice wire are white/black/blue.  The original wires are white/black/!!!!GREEN!!!  This was the first idication to me that someone tried to rig something and the fact that they put wire loom and the tape wasn't as old as the other wireloom.   The part# on the map sensor is 735-13201  (01351).  The one they supposedly took off and put in the box just says wells and has no ##.

What else have they done to your car?  :?  A MAP sensor from my Pontiac dealer is p/n 16254539 and it is in stock right now as a common stock item. I called them just 5 minutes ago for a MAT sensor and that is a common stock item also.

I would have some serious words with those numb-nuts about the potential of really fucking up your car (excuse my French)!!!! Make damn good and sure you get your money back, and better yet, take it to Pontiac and have them rewire the proper pig tail to the ECM and charge the dip-shits at the other shop! Doubtful they would pay, but I would get satisfaction from it! Holy Momma...I would go off on them like a black chick that just got slapped by a white girl!

nothin i can do but chalk it up as a loss because I don't know who actually did it.   The repair shops (old ones that were in the glove box and trunk) were all out of state.
