Well not really a race but i caught up to one tonite on the highway.

he was doing 90 kmph the limit and i was behind him maybe 15-20 yards.

anyway this is 2 lane highway with on comming traffic so no fancy moves on my part, he slowed down to about 75-80 kmph cause my driving lights and silverstars were kinda bright....

lanes were clear and i spead up to pass and he spead up also.....

long story short i put it to the floor in 3rd then 4th then in 5th all i saw was blueish headlights in my rear view mirror.....

at a time i was doing 190 kmph which was kinda exciting....

I pulled into the local donnut shop which is close to my place and after a few mins the Bimmer pulled it......the dude who was about 60 walked over to me as im reviewing my datalog on the laptop on the seat beside me.

He says........."WHAT THE F**K DO YOU HAVE IN THAT OLDS!!!!!!!!"

he seemed kinda mad......

all i said was "ummm a 3.1 V6"

he said "V6 you say.....and that noise is ether a S/C or a turbo"

and he walked into the donnut shop.

so not a race really but a funny story i think........

GangstGP

That sounds funny. I would have told him he got beat by a snail.
"oh, were you trying to keep up, or something?"
Its cool to beat people who spend 40 grand trying to be sporty and keen. Wishing that they were better than the commoners.

Another great story :D , one of many to come now that you are on the road, also too a nice reward for all the great work you did (and the looks, damn that is a sweet looking engine bay :D and the car  , and if you remember to get me those parts I would offer to add it to the sorta hall of fame of engine/car pics on my web site 8) ).

Sounds like he had to justify why he got beat by mentioning that swish noise he heard 8) guess that is why some guys go more stealth that way it really freaks someone if they don't hear the turbo and you just say its just a 3.1L V6

I like the ones that end in a good way, like when I raced an Intergra Type-R, by a few car lengths I beat him  did not really need to kill him, if I knew he needed it then ok but was not sure of it but any ways I let up after I left him behind so bad, then after I pulled into the parking lot with the rest of his possie, stood there and watched him race some friends commenting after the car/Type-R went by how sweet the engine sounded taching out over 8K!!! (it did!! 8) ) and a few of his boys (and asian hotties  ) said "yea but you just beat it" (bummed and probably wondering why I was not saying shit about it) I replied that it is a 1.8/1.9L motor and mine is 3.1L WITH a turbo!!, they freaked I did not shit on their buddy's ride since I beat it and they wanted to see the engine bay I had, and gave nice compliments, and their Mad Scientist/guru ask some really good questions which is one of the reasons I like hanging out at these car events, we all ask questions, give ideas, work out to some extent those ideas and have a great f**king time :D  talking about something we all enjoy!!...I think that is what life is all about  , and this is one great way to get it :!:

I remember once (only once??? ) sitting outside waiting for my wife, up pulls this Miata, and I notice it has a huge shiny aluminum radiator/intercooler hiding down low in the front, so I tell the car owner as he walks by "pretty big radiator under there", he just smiles and winks at me, cooool :) , remember him when I am out there  .
