ok, so i just had the fuel pump replaced in the TGP last week and it was working fine since then... then all of the sudden, it started only idling at 2000 rpms!  Then tonight on the way home my fuel pump died again! I hear nothing when i turn the key and it cranks but won't turn over.  I was driving down the highway at 70 w/ the cruise control on and all of the sudden it started surging like it wasn't getting fuel the cruise tried to compensate and floored the pedal but didn't do any good...it came back in and out for a very short time between working (mostly) and not then all of the sudden nothing... I got it to the side of the road and thats where it will sit tonight but just wondering what could possibly cause 2 fuel pumps to go bad in that short an amount of time!

Shitty voltage can make the sender fry.

wires can wear out back there. sometimes they break or short on sharp metal if they are not loomed up.

If the pump is not getting enough power it won't work right.

That is a long way from the battery.

Running the tank dry or low on gas will fry the pump every time.
