As posted on the W-Body forums as well.......

I figured I may as well start my searching, this is a long shot I know, but as the title says, looking for a TSTE/TGP 4T60-"HD" trans.  After what was said about the differences, I think its better to start with one of those.  This is for us to rebuild, and since a transmission would probably be ugly to ship, I am searching Northwest region, closest to Utah as possible preferably.  The online car-parts.com search doesn't list for the TGP, so it brings up ALL 4T60 transmissions so its hard to decifer which would be TGP.

Anyways, yeah, if anyone has or knows of someone, or even that can point me in the direction to somewhere that there is one, doesn't have to be working, it WILL be rebuilt anyways, I would appreciate it.

Thanks

i am converting my Turbo STE to 5-speed hopefully later this spring or early summer.  i already have a perfectly good Getrag 282 sitting in my garage along with almost everything else i will need for the conversion.  the 4T60HD in my TSTE shifts perfectly and the fluid is bright red.  i will have no use for it soon though.

how soon do you need one?  it may be several months before i pull it out.  and no way would i ship it - if you could meet me in...say...Laramie, WY i would give it to you for the cost of gas because i will have no use for it and i can't store it anywhere.  Laramie is probably a 12hr round trip for you, but it may be worth it if you can't find another 4T60HD.  the only problem with mine is that one of the turbo support studs is broken.  there is enough of the stud left so that the turbo is actually supported by both studs, but one of them is not long enough to put a nut on it.

let me know, i'd love to see another TGP enthusiast get it before i throw it.

We are in no hurry at all; I think I will take you up on that offer indeed.  Keep me posted on when you plan on taking it out if you would.  That would definitely be a convenient trip for us, that drive is nothing for us.  The broken stud thing wouldn't be a problem either.

We are still researching right now and figuring things out on what we need to get.  So yes, please keep me posted on that indeed
