Need W-body strut removal tool kit

Would someone that has this tool allow me to borrow it? We do this on my motocycle site all the time, just wondering cause I can't find it in town...T :thumb:

When I need one I just go to Checker or Advanced Auto and "borrow" one from them. It was like an $80 deposit/purchase that is refunded when you return it.

OTC makes a cheap strut tool set for us.

They show up on ebay pretty often at a slightly lower price(the shipping people charge might negate that price drop though...).

I didn't see the link before...WHERE IS THE STRUT COLLAR? It is going to be a real pain in the balls without the strut collar in place to hold it steady! :icon_cool:

Is that usually included in these kits?

i need to buy a kit ASAP so which one should i get?

last time i did this i had the whole assemblies out so no specialty tools needed less the spring compressors

You need this collar if you want to do it without busting your ass, knuckles, or forehead! ;) When you remove the upper bushing (which holds the entire strut and spring assembly centered!) you slide in the collar to hold it centered.

Some do not realize this...but you DO NOT lift the car off it's tires. You leave the car on the ground remove the strut plates from under the hood and have at it with the w-body strut tool! AIR TOOLS are optimal for removing the upper strut nut. First time I did mine I had the car up in the air...then looked at the tool directions and said...do what? Leave the car on the floor? How is that possible! ;)  :laugh:
