which sensor controls the guage display indicator?  there is a sensor that was in the stock radiator (top right) what is this sensor for?  I remember reading somewhere that the sensor on the side of the radiator is corrosion sensor or something like that is this true or not?  Does this sensor have any input to the ecu or guage display thats needed?  If its is needed I have to fab a T off the hose to the overflow so the sensor makes contact with the coolant for a proper reading. TY.

The sensor on the side should be for the low coolant light. It's a square looking box, right? If so that's what it is.

good so i don't really need it then.  I just wanted to make sure it has nothing to do with the temperature guage.   So the only info going to the guage is from the cts under the TB.   all i have left to do is put the overflow back in.

I haven't really figured out why yet, but it does report back to the ECM. I don't know if this is for the guage reading, or if it has another function. There are two sensors on the engine itself for the coolant temp. One is a SENDER for the guage. Its on the back of the rear head and has a single green wire coming from it. THe other is on the backside of the thermostat housing and is the SENSOR for the ECM and has two wires coming from it.

i stuck the sensor in some water and the light went out on the dash so I am guessing it is just to show coolant height when its in the stock radiator (and it sat in the top of the radiator).  I just wanted to make sure it didn't affect the the info going to the guage display.  ultimately i am going to put a coolant temp on the guage pillar but I am strapped for money now trying to come up with money for closing cost!!!
