It's been a while since anyone posted here. Thought I bring something up.
If you've been to the 60degreev6 site, you've seen that the 3500, and 3900 have a steel crankshaft. Some people have swaped to the new 3500 engine. We could have switched too or even to a 3100 and 3400...but we've been true to the stout "V" short block. I know non of us has yet to destroy a TGP harden crank, but when the time comes this is something to consider.

The new crank has the same stroke, mains size, but has larger rod jurnals at 2.249 vs the old 1.99. The new jurnal size is basicly the same as the 90* 4.3l found in many GM vans, suvs and trucks. So rod selection is a matter of finding forged or billet 4.3l units. Add some forged pistons and we now have a bomb proff shortblock  :icon_eek:  :icon_twisted: .

What do you think?
