What kind of filter is everyone using on a Gen 1 BOV?

This radio station was renamed Krenzy in honor of the last American hero to whom speed means freedom of the soul. The question is not when he's gonna stop, but who is gonna stop him.

What are you guys going to do about the crank case ventilation? From the factory the TGP had 2 ways to evacuate crank case pressures. By just putting the air filter on the turbo you are not utilizing both of them. This can create higher then normal crank case pressures, and will lead to blow by and oil consumption even from lower mileage cars...  Here's what I did to resolve the problem.

I just have a breather on my car for now. You won't have a problem with a breather(other than oil dripping off of it if you have a lot of blowby) or routing the tube back into your air filter setup. The only reason that tube is routed to the air intake is for emissions purposes. The blowby gases(and slight oil accumulation which is present on even the lowest mileage engines) are meant to be drawn into the engine again and reburned. The breather just vents them to the atmosphere instead. My 74K mile never builds up so much as a drop of oil on the breather by the way. I do plan on eventually removing the breather and running a hose to my K&N filter OR some tubing like you did Adam(soon as I move that pesky coolant bottle).

That's not bad since they can probably get it next day for you....but AJUSA.com is still cheaper @ $27.66 shipped to your door for that filter. ;)

Flybynite, I sent you a PM about capping that tube. Sorry I'm so impatient that I had to resurrect this thread just to let you know.
