I wanted to keep the factory inside look of the car and keep the original tape deck in there, so I got one of them tape adaptors to hook up a CD player. Well I use it on my PSP, but that doesn't really matter, but the problem is it is stuck in there and won't eject. I know it's no problem to take out the tape deck, just 2 7 mils on each side and the cover pops off and it's easy to take out, but is it easy to take the deck apart and remove the tape?? There are times, rare, but times I actually do like to listen to the radio... lol

I'm pretty sure it's possible to remove a stuck tape with a very small screwdriver or some other small tool. I remember seeing a few people remove stuck tapes before and they definitely didn't remove the cassette player and disassemble it...

By the way, you could always upgrade to a later model factory CD player. 99% of the population would not know that it didn't come in the car.

I dont know how to get it out but........if you do get it out......and you want to fix the tape deck go to fierostore.com.  They sell rebuild kits for tape decks.  Get the one for the graphic equilizer model.  I think it constitutes of some belts and crap.  Thats all that goes wrong on these things. Like 15 bucks.  I could never do this because I Destroyed the tape deck trying to get a tape out :(  Then I just got a CD player and said the hell with it.

meltboy11,
It can be done!!! My daughter put in her I-pod adapter tape and it got stuck. I tried for 2.5 hrs to get it out from the front. No way. Even called a factory stereo specialist here in town and he wanted $300 to take it apart and get it out. But as on the level as this guy seemed something didn't seem right about our conversation. So I went back home and tried again from the outside rear.  I'd rather talk you through it over the phone, if you like leave me your phone# by email. Later...Tony

i had that happen.....i ended up taking some big pliers, grabbing the tape and yanking it out, then pulling these bar things to the front so it didnt know a tape was in so the radio worked.
