I know I need to come here more often, but the TGP hasn't been touched much lately, due to it being cold and crappy out.

However, I'm pretty sure I blew a headgasket in the cutlass (from the heater core feed line blowing a one inch gash in it). The plan as of right now is to get the spare tranny in the TGP next weekend. I need something to drive, and although the cutlass is still mostly drivable, I can't keep driving it like that for too long. This will hopefully give me a good chance to get a feel for what I want/need to do with her in the future. I hate driving it in the winter, but I hate even more that I've been driving the cutlass all winter (and apparently it decided it didn't want to do it any more  )

So anyways, just thought I'd stop in and let you guys know that as of right now, I'll probably have her up next weekend.

Awesome, lets just hope that this tranny is a wednesday built tranny, and not like the rest I've seen and heard about :icon_evil:

Just fix the coolant line and drive the cutty man.. I had to do that to my GP SE because the steel line that runs from the water pump to the heater core had rotted out.  Get some heater hose from your local auto parts store (8 feet of it is only $4 IIRC) and replace the bad section with the heater hose and some hoseclamps.  Quick and easy. Theres only a little over a month of winter left, why not finish off the winter in the Cutty since you already have driven it the whole winter with the TGP sitting inside.  jmo

Really though, wouldn't you rather spend 15 minutes replacing a heater hose than replace a tranny?

More than heater hose will be needed for this.

well, Ken and I spent the better part of 7 or 8 hours Thursday night replacing hoses. The heater core inlet hose had a hole about an inch long, but no more leaking. I was getting some steam/smoke the night we did all that, and a little yesterday morning, but only a very tiny amount on my way home yesterday, and none at all today. Hopefully I just had a puddle or something that finally boiled off, but aside from having the rad cap only one click on (to lessen the pressure, in case it was the head gasket), everything else seems to be back to 100%. I have a roll of quarters in the ash tray for a wash this week, but I think I'm still going to do the TGP next weekend instead of trusting the Cutty to make a 3.5 hour trip home.

That being the case, the TGP will get registered shortly after, and probably driven to work once or twice if it's nice enough out before I decide to pay for 2 cars on the insurance. It would be nice to have it done sooner than later anyways. The tranny is a supposed good one, but Jay (god910, who I got it from) never had it installed, as it was the one intended to go into the car originally, so we're not 100% sure that it is in fact good, but there's no reason it shouldn't be. I figure I'll also do some sensors, plugs/wires, etc for good measure pretty much right after the tranny gets put in.

Sooooooo, if everything goes well, both my W's will be running and reliable (haha, right) soon.
