We have what is called a traveler (2 button) that does most of that. it does miles to empty, avg mpg, instant mpg, trip odometer, engine hours since reset. If the traveler is in a roof console it also has the compass and outside temp. (both can be switched between metric and standard) My 93 has the roof version and the 92 I added the dash traveler since the car has a sunroof (so no console). All the vans I have had had the roof console. The roof console also give you a place for your sunglasses and a compartment for a garage door opener. They also have a 6 button traveler (very rare) that does much more including keeping an eye on all your fluids, day, date and so on. They can be swapped in but without all the wiring most of the good stuff doesn't work. Late 80's dodges had units that would talk to you things like the door is ajar, low oil pressure and so on. You could get them in either male or female voices.

Yea I do remember that feature in those cars, especially the women Voices......Ewww takes me back to the good old days. Only if I could have gotten her to say a few different types of phrases :flamingdevil: I would have married that car.
