I finally got around to putting on the accumulator for the brakes, wow what a difference. The antilock light has been blinking for some time now with code 62 low accum. pressure but it has not really been a problem. Put the new accum. on and it is some much nicer to drive , it is almost like a vacuum assisst car. the pedal pressure is noticeably reduced in stopping the car . I wish I would have done this sooner.

I need to do this, my ABS light stays on for the first few seconds after starting the car. You use a GM part or a Prior part?

Do the tgps not have a accumulator from the factory?? Sorry if thats a stupid question but i asumed they did. Braking is difficult to stop, the pedal pushes back at you and i have to put alot of pressure on it. No one has been able to give me a good idea as to how to fix it. Maybe an accumulator would help? No abs light has ever come on though.

You have two choices, GM or Prior Remanufacturing. The prior reman accumulator is larger in size than the original GM unit and slightly more difficult to install(still an easy installation!). The prior unit has a nut on the backside vs. the GM unit having it on the front for easy access. To tighten the prior unit, you need to use a wrench along the backside of the engine near the firewall. There's more detailed info in old posts about the installation procedures.

Prior accumulator = part # 4900100. The prior unit was right at $100 when I purchased one a few years ago. I'm not sure what the current price is. Their website is located here. You'll probably have to call and order it as they do not list it on the website(as far as I know). http://www.priorreman.com/

For the GM one, GMPartsdirect.com is probably the cheapest place to get it. Go to their website and browse the catalog and you'll find it. It currently lists for $160.
