I installed a set of 24lb/hr injectors and now my car runs like crap. As soon as it fired the ses light came on so we scanned and the coolant temp sensor reads -34 degrees or something like that. I checked to make sure its pluged in and it is. I couldn't figure out why it isn't working. Anyway, the engine keeps flooding on start. I have to start the car at wot just to get it to run and I cant drive the car because as soon as I hit the gas, it dies. It's obviously running too rich, but my question is: Is it because of the injectors or the coolant temp sensor not working?

Thanks

Jon

It is because of the injectors.  You will need to tune your car to run with those injectors, or get a set that flows less fuel.

I'm running C302 Yellowtop 19lb/hr (about 22# with our fuel pressure) injectors as replacement for my stock Multecs in my TGP, and they work fantastic.

Thats an awful shame.  I spent all that time putting them in.  I guess Ill swap back the stockers.

I do have a topgun 160 chip tho

But I guess I have to put the old ones back in.

So long as the stockers don't leak and they ohm out good (around 12.2 ohms IIRC) they will work plenty fine for a stock application with the chip.  Be sure to replace your o-rings as well. ;)

+1 on the yellow tops,  go to the yard and find some. Worth it.

+2 on yellow tops, you cant go wrong picking yourself up a set of those.

if the coolant temp sensors reading -31 that would cause a super rich mix too, the wrong injectors arnt gonna throw the ECU temp sensors readings off. id check the wireing or replace that sensor also. But yes you do need a tune for bigger injectors. The yellow tops rock, i got a brand new set off ebay for 160$

Yeah its a common thing for the plugs on the coolant temp sensors to fubar themselves. Most parts store stock them.

My stock injectors went bad. Do I also need to have a new tune at first to run with these new ones? Read some more, yes, I do. Gonna wait for someone to verify these are the right injectors before I get that and the tune.

Well, I don't have any idea what happened to the last two posts, but I still need to know if these part-number injectors are the right ones for the car before I blow my money on those and a chip...

Yes Fred, the yellow top c302s worked great with a tune.  Before i upgraded to a big turbo i had a nasty tune from Flybynite with 22# yellow tops , stock turbo setup and upgraded comp housing/ wheel.
