Major tranny issue!!!!!

Ok I will try to explain this the best I can. With the shifter in OD, Drive or 2nd the trans will just sit there and slip and not move. But if I manually shift through the gears when pulling out it works fine. And when I come to a stop with it in OD or drive it will shutter and not go into 1st gear till I manually put it there. I just had this thing rebuilt and my first 2 ideas are Torque converter or possible torn seal not let it build pressure. But even then that doesnt make sense cause it takes the same pressure to manually shift or letting it do it on its own(correct?). Fluid is nice and red, but does have what looks like air bubbles on the dipstick.

id reccommend getting on car-part.com and getting a 5 speed trans, you should be able to pick one up that came in a z34 or sunbird for 100-200 bucks.

Maybe a seal didnt get installed right. Just one of those lip seals gets folded its screwed. May end up taking it back apart.

It's not so simple as that, and Sunbird Getrags (or any other non-W trans) will not work in our cars without other extensive mods.

Yeah I think there is a bad oring or something. I have been trying to locate a donor GP for a 5 speed swap, but for some reason I cant find one around here. I hate all you guys who find one for like 300 bucks. It makes me sick. LOL
