friend of mine is installing TGP parts on his 2.8. he would like a bigger turbo than the stock T25.

What will fit the TGP crossover and DP flanges?

A t28 is the biggest. But the best is a GT2871R

I thought the gt30s used a t3 flange.

EDIT:  I guess not?!?!?

Here's a useful table I found listing bolt-on turbos, excluding the ones marked by *    http://www.ztechz.net/id1.html

Apparently the Nissan 300ZX TT uses the same turbo, and many of Nissan's turbo'd cars   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_SR20DET

So is anyone running the GT3076R? What kind of numbers will this put down and what supporting mods would be necessary. I've got ls6 springs, 30# injectors, a walbro 255 pump, I'm having a mandrel bent 2.5" exhaust made, and Scott to help with the tune. I was building the motor for the GT2871R because I thought it would be the biggest powermaker to fit on the tgp setup. I'm also wondering what cam would be best for this build? I've seen a few mentions of the hm260(?) and at least one mention of a HM272(?) Any info is highly appreciated!

IIRC myself (didnt finish build - Deployed currently), JUD (RIP), and z284pwr (bad cam) were the only ones using this setup.  No numbers posted JUD had the fastest time recorded (with proof) for a TGP.

Do you remember his time by any chance? and did any of you guys run a different cam? Thanks!

I used an Engle turbo hyd 2 cam better for the log manifolds and a gt3071r turbo. pistons are special from JE

the only problem Im noticing is that the turbo flange needs to be modified meaning that one of the bolt holes dont line up so I filed it and about 1/8 of the flange in one corner doesnt fit the gasket properly so it leaks but I fixed that by building up weld in the area and belt sanding it flat.

Jud(sleeperred90tgp) - 13.558@102.56mph . I keep thinking Jud might have been running a smaller turbo at the time of that run though. His car could have been way stronger w/ the GT3076R had it been tuned properly.

It's unfortunate my 3.1 cam went flat, would have been interesting to see how well it would have run.  Now the poor turbo just sits until we find it a new home.  Such a pain to put in the TGP but ran great.

Wait, what turbo? I need a turbo that can feed a 3500.

Jud has the GT3071 turbo with a built 3400 I believe it was.  Unfortunately he passed away.  Does anyone know if the car is still around after it was passed along in the family?

This is curious as it should have fit fine.  Our 76 with just fine.  We didn't have to modify any flanges to make it fit.  You are certain it was a T-25 flange right?  The downpipe fits fine I assume, the pictures on your facebook appear that it should have been okay?
