NTRCOOL

Thursday the 15th I left for work in my black 90 and was driving down the road, passed a truck at about 70mph not to much of an issue even though I still felt the need to replace my coil packs and ignition module. any way I get in front and bring my speed back down to about 60-65mph and went to accelerate more and noticed it starved for power and I let off still losing power i put my foot back down to half to 3/4 throttle still losing power then I pulled over to a side road and it died. At first it wouldn't fire at all. I waited a few minutes and it fired but died after a few seconds of running.

Now it is at home today the 17th. I have replaced the ignition module with a good tested one, Coil packs I am pretty sure are good, I checked the fuel pressure ( 45psi when key turned to on- start and run for as long as it does around 40psi). I even pulled off the EGR valve and checked and cleaned it. Checked one of my spark plugs It looked normal(the ac delco's) So now I am getting ready to pull the plenum off and ohm my fuel injectors for I am running out of Ideas in the heat of the day. I know this sounds familiar but I am mentally drained all hyped up for one project and the one just dropping in my lap.

I'm open to any Ideas hell if you wanna give me a call my # is (815)-238-7630

that happened to me a while ago when my one car had stock injectors... outa nowhere just kinda started sputterin runnin like crap then pulled into a parking lot and it died out... cranked and sputtered.... ran for a second and shut off... blew a bunch of unburnt fuel out the tailpipe like the ecm was tryin to recompensate for the dead injector.   Came back next day it started and stayed running but barley... putted down the hill to my garage... thank god it was downhill.  pulled intake had 2 dead injectors ...think they ohmed to like 7 or something rediculous!!  This was after checking the fuel pressure, spark , changing the CPS and fuel filter with no dice.  Popped in a few spare injectors and it ran like new.  GL

yea I am going to get started on checking that but I just got done trying to pull the crankshaft position sensor out and it was the toughest I have ever dealt with and broke it off in the block so I am not in a good mood :icon_redface: :icon_evil:. I'll get those injectors check good thing I have extras. so now any suggestions on removing a broke crank sensor :icon_question: :icon_confused:. All I have is to pull the motor and extract it some how.

That blows man. The crank position sensor snapped off in the block on my 91 GP last summer when I was replacing it... I had to pull the motor, flip it upside down and pull off the oil pan, then pop out the remainder of the sensor.  Good luck.

iv herd of people using a torch to heat up a wood screw and melting/screwing it into the broken peice, letting it cool, and pulling it out. Worth a shot, also herd of people just droppin the pan and pushin the remains out, or letting it fall into the pan

Thanks guys for the input. I'm taking a break and going to a movie shut the doors on the garage and cranked the window a/c unit after getting the car up on ramps. I'll try the oil pan Idea since I have a new oil pan gasket laying around.

I had this happen before I moved to Italy, I tried gluing a bolt to it, no luck, tried many other "good ideas" also.  Finally had a friend with small hands come over and he had it out and replaced in 10 minutes using some surgical clamps to grab it.  I feel your pain, I worked on that for 2 days before my friend got it out.

Good luck.

Update. After spending the last two weeks the black 90 is back on the street. Thanks for all the input. It was two shorted out injectors that started it but it is doing better.
