Just installed new accumulator and started the car, the pump runs every other time the brake is applied. Does anyone have any idea what is bad now?

The standard PM3 pump normally runs very often, sometimes with every push of the brake pedal. Nothing is wrong unless I'm an imbecile and I'm not catching something here.

Also, there is a Suspension/Wheels/Tires/Brakes section where this thread will probably be moved. http://www.tgpforums.com/index.php?board=3.0

When I got the car several years ago it the pump would run once  about every seven apps. just wondering why that is.

Did you bleed the unit after installing the accumulator? Are there any lights illuminated on the dash?

You can find information about bleeding the unit here: http://arrc.epnet.com/autoapp/8800/8800.htm  Note the part that says if only a hydraulic component like the accumulator is used, it may only be necessary to bleed @ the master cylinder itself.  Click the "ABS III" link. This link also has information on the later ABS 4 cars.
