When I hit the switch, the motor runs and the window goes down an inch, then it hangs and I have to shove the window back up manually. The motor sounds like it's struggling with a lot of resistance (physical not electrical) before it stops, then the motor stops making noise. I got the trim and water screen out of the way, and I need to figure out how to get the motor out of there.  :icon_question:

Also, if you think it might just be out of track, let me know, because it looks like it's set properly.

Sounds like a textbook example of a failing window motor. They start working intermittently when they fail. To remove the motor you need to remove the door panel. Check out alldata or mitchell @ your school and it should cover door panel removal. If not, I can tell you where all the fasteners are. Once you get the panel off, tape the window glass to the door frame. Painters tape works fine for this purpose. Don't skimp on it, as you don't want the window falling. If the motor has never been replaced before, it's riveted in and you need to drill out the rivets. Once you get those out, manipulate the window motor/assembly so that you can get it out of the door opening. Before removing the motor from the lift assembly, make sure to note how everything goes together so you will have it installed in the same way and won't have to mess with it any more than necessary to get it back inside the door and installed. Autozone and other places usually have replacement motors w/ lifetime warranties for about $40.  They come with bolts and lock washers to reinstall. I usually put a little blue loctite on the bolts before installing them. I've had the cheap hardware that comes with these kits back off before and cause window binding and rattling that will drive you nuts. ;)
