:-)...

So there is a pretty nicely commented $58 file - ftp://ftp.diy-efi.org/uploads/$58t.zip. Nothing tells me if its a stock bin or not however there is no comments about any thing altered either.

Likewise there is some comments of the $8f   lilke this one ftp://ftp.diy-efi.org/uploads/727tpsck2.txt and this one ftp://ftp.diy-efi.org/uploads/8F%20hack.txt -- not much to go on but better than nothing and maybe in combo with the comments from the $58 file (since the ecm quite similar) it can render some info. I'm a bit reluctant to trust the 8F%20hack.txt  since it looks like its not done all the way so to say.

I tried to look for the 3bar mod of the $58(AYBN) code but ran out of luck maybe I'm looking at the wrong place? There is also a wb patch and and a patch program at http://digware.lunarpages.com/digware/index.html .

Hmm sorry for messing with the thread but I hope it's ok -- just try to get a grip of things....

The best way to do it is look at what other people are doing.Lots of info out there.I looked at the differences between the $58 2 bar and 3 bar bins and went from there.Has taken me a long time to get where I'm at but it's still not perfect. :icon_lol:

Thanks for the pointers. Just to make clear is not so much to "steal" any code but to first get an understanding of the std $8f code. There is kinda two ways to get that info wade through and read a ton of postings etc or somebody helping you a bit (wink). It's first when you get an understanding of the basic code an how it operates you can really start hacking

Sure done bin "decoding" before, http://dvd-create.cvs.sourceforge.net/dvd-create/tools/txtdt/ which is a decoder for the txt info embedded in the ifo files on a dvd. Maybe you can put me in the right directions of where I can find some comments about the std $8f code?

:icon_wink: ok so this thread kinda answered my question if you did a disassemble / assemble of the $8f bin. Was looking for someone actually working with the code it self. Looked at different places and at ftp.diy-efi.org there was a some what commented $8f code but no "owner" or comments who had done the work. It also looked like the code it self wasn't working (beside some of the code wasn't extraced sine some of the jumps was out of the address space if I don't remember incorrectly.

Anyways, some working be it std or modified code that is actually somewhat commented would be a more than great. I'm not new to programming (both assembler and C) so I hope I could contrib a bit.....

Sorry for a stupid question but the 3bar bin did you disassemble the bin (disassemble - hack - compile)?

Hello,

Hope I could get some help from some kind TGP owner. Looked at gmparts direct but could not find the part number for the boost control solenoid. The one on my wifes TGP is simply missing -- the wastegate actuator is directly hooked up to the vacuum nipple on the turbo. I don't know if the  solenoid comes with the bracket or not but if it doesn't I need the part number for that one too.

Ah if you have the parts in question boost control solenoid plus possible bracket then I'm more than interested to buy them :-) since it woudl probably save me a few $$ and also I doubt that e.g. is still in stock but you never know.

Cheers and thanks in adv Gimper
