.....well follow the plug wires they have to eventually lead to the coils.....

I tried to follow them but they all seem to go towards the REAR of the engine?

My car stumbles at WOT like its not getting enough fuel etc. Seems to be worst when the car is warmed up. It even shut off on me while driving yesterday but i was just in a parking lot. Seems to take a while to start once it gets warm too. Also I am not very mechanical when it comes to cars but I cant even find the coilpack or packs? Thanks

Are coils easy to replace and how do you tell they were bad? I guess trial and error right. Congrats!

I had the same thing happen while I was stuck in bumper to bumper traffic on the BQE. Coasted to the side of the road and no crank at all. Luckily I had a jump pack in the trunk and the car started right up. Got home and shut it off and it started right back up no problems. Only contributing factor is the AC was on and i was in bumper to bumper traffic for miles???

Oh I charged the battery over night and now the car starts right up without shutting off??? Guess a weak battery effects fuel getting to the engine?

Thanks for the tips. I rented a unit from my local autozone and connected it to my car. reading was 40-42 both times so I guess the pump is working fine. The car just seems to feel like its stumbling sometimes like its not getting boost or there is some sort of pressure leak. It happens mostly at WOT but its been felt now at lower speeds as well.  I thought i might have a bad crossover but I smell NO fumes under the hood while the engine is running.

Check what you have for fuel pressure at the rail.

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I am not very technical as far as cars are concerned how would i check this? Is this expensive to have replaced?

Problems & Solutions / Is my fuel pump on its way out?
August 05, 2009, 07:58:43 AM
My car started surging at WOT a long while back but I never figured out the problem. Well the car sits most of the time so the battery died. I tried to start it but it would just start if I had my foot on the gas. Eventually it would stay running then shut off. Now its staying running but the engine sounds like it wants to shut off at times? Does this mean my fuel pump is going and is it hard to replace? Thanks

Problems & Solutions / bad alternator signs?
January 05, 2009, 09:53:42 AM
My battery went completely dead in stop & go traffic a while back so i replaced the battery. I noticed recently at light sometimes the car sounds like it wants to shut off and the blinkers get really slow at times? Is the alternator easy to replace myself?

Thanks

You don't have to lower the sub frame or take the harmonic balancer off, I did mine, go to this site and go to "89 TGP Lower Motor Mount Change".....Dogbone

Thanks man. Did you have to loosen the transmission mount to lift the engine up or just jacked it up once you removed the mount bolts?
