You can upgrade to a t-28 turbo if you want.  The motor mounts from FFP are solid motor mounts more or less which means instead of the shock of the motor when your taking off going through the car it puts all the force to the wheels where it should be in other words better launches. Well worth the 120 dollar investment.

will the turbo support bracket that bolts to the tranny shield work if you upgrade to say, the GT28RS turbo?

I'm not sure on that one you'll have to ask idbeast or jeffM on that one.  I'm just gonna stick with my t-25 and have the internals played around with a little bit that way I don't have to worry about flanges and support brackets and all that stuff.

Yes, the turbo support bracket will still work.  The GT28RS uses a standard T-2 series turbine flange and is identical to our T-25.  The only mods need to bolt in a GT28RS is you have to file one of the bolt holes in the downpipe a little for it to line up, and you need to swtich to banjo fittings for the water lines.  Those are the only thing I've found that might be a problem.  Anyways, I found a place that sells the GT28RS cheaper than ATP and they sell it for $995.  That's a great deal for a dual-ball bearing turbo that uses state-of-the-art wheels, and has the biggest turbine housing that readily available to the market.  Just remember that I've been saying all along that the Disco Potato would make a great upgrade, and I'm hoping others will start to see this as well.  I mean some people pay around $900 for a rebuild/upgrade.  This way you get a bigger A/R on the turbine housing(which we desperately need) and you get a brand new turbo, and you can sell the old one to boot!!

here's a side by side comparison of the GT28RS and a T25

Realistically, how much of an increase in power are you looking at by upgrading to a GT28RS?  Like let's say that was the only mod on the car (aside from K&N, 160*, and such), what kind of hp could you honestly expect (obviously ball park figures since we'd have to try it to find out for sure)?

I am also wondering what kind of a power gain you could expect stock.  And with a chip.  And what kind of potential does it give you.  I know with the stock turbo you can't really do much better than about a 14 flat.  How much more potential for power does this turbo have???

I don't even know where to start with a hp guess.  I would expect it to be better than the T28 upgrade that everyone gets since it has a much larger exhaust housing(.86 compared to .63 IIRC) and it has much better wheels as well.  I would have to take a guess at around 10-12% increase over a regular T28 since that's the kind of gain that the SR20DET(nissan) guys see when they upgrade from a regular T28 to the GT28RS.  Then again, thats a DOHC 2.0 4 cylinder so I don't think that direct comparison are going to be to accurate. It's hard to make a guess when there aren't even any dyno sheets around with a regular T28.  I think that the GT28RS would get us much closer to the 350 mark than a regular T28 could ever do.
