Just wondering how many of you guys here plan to make some 1/4 mile passes during this drag racing season(already started for some of you, tracks open here in a few days) in your TGP's/TSTE's? Anyways, I'm planning on seeing what the TGP can do as it stands now before I do some modficatons to it(have a lot planned).  I'll post times on the board sometime within the next month or so when I take the TGP to the track. 8)

Opens in march, and I'm gonna be there, even with the insane amount of people the first test and tune of the season brings.

I believe our track opens in April and I will be getting some pre-chip 1/4 mile times and LAP TIMES (never hear of anyone on racecourses on the boards) before I install my TG 160 chip.  Will definitely be posting the results of the before and after times.  Dale Malcolm   Omaha, NE.

end of march begins street racing for us... can't wait.

hey tyroelite, what track do you use??  I usually go to Island Dragway in NJ, which isn't the best track but it is the closest. Maybe we can meet up there and race. Noone knows what a TGP is there and I have yet for someone to say something about my car. I always sit in the staging lanes with the hood open, and noone ever even looks at it.   :D

I know the feeling...    Same as at car shows when its parked next to all the rice that runs 17's 18's.... grrrrr

I usually go to Beaver Springs Dragway. Its a ways west of here but its closer to where my home is and I have a friend who goes to school about 20 minutes from it.  That'd be cool some time to meet sometime and race them both.  My bro goes to school out in Jersy so I go out there occasionally anyway.

Muncie Dragway is opening up soon (first Sat in april)  I can't wait.  I hope to have Sunshine feeling like herself so I can attend.

Planning on bringing both TGP's and the GTP to the track a few times this year.  Definately on May 1, and probably to a test and tune before then in April some time.  I had fun last year, can't wait to see what my new found STE will do!  (then after I run it as it sits, I can't wait to mod the piss out of it and see what it runs then!)

Good luck at the track for everyone!!!
I'll post results from my track visits.

I would be racing my TGP at Road America next month (4 mile IndyCar road course in Elkhart Lake, WI) if I felt the TGP was a more suitable vehicle!!  But for starters, the automatic transmission and especially the extremely wimpy 10.5" brakes aren't enough to safely stop this wallowing lard of a vehicle on a track that big ;-)  I like my TGP too much to put it into the wall (or the tires).  Vacuum brakes would be a great start of improvement!

You have no idea!!!!  I have only driven the new TGP for 17 miles, but they are a bagillion times better than the udder TGP.  When I buy the new Wallet-thrasherIII, I'm gonna put this setup in Sunshine.  Come to think of it, I don't think it'll work w/ the 5 speed.  I might have to find a 5 speed w/ vacuum brakes.  We'll see.

What won't work with the 5-speed? The PM III? Why not? Luke's car has the PM III and a 5-speed.

skalor

The cash-masterIII works fine with the 5 speed.  I'm almost done with my swap and it's mostly together and it fits quite well.  It's the later ABS system that is not compatible with a 5 speed.

It's funny because I just swapped a turbo 3.1 into a '90 Euro Lumina(auto) and it has vacuum brakes and stops way better than my TGP(5 speed).  I just don't like that I can't make boost on the line.  I sit there and brake stall it a little and once she starts to hit boost she starts moving.  Anyways, I'm probably going to be ditching the cash-masterIII this summer as there is not point for the cash-masterIII anymore since I have a 5 speed now and I can't build boost on the line anymore anyways.
