OK, I just started noticing that when I'm traveling at highway speeds and then hit the brake, both or just the left turnsignal will flash on on the HUD. Has anyone else ever seen this or have any idea as to how the brakes and the turnsignals would be connected??!  Also, as a possibly unrelated problem, sometimes when I turn corners, the lights behind the controls in the steering wheel will flicker on and off.

my Cutlass has been doing EXACTLY the same thing lately!!!  also, when too many accesories are on the high beam light in the cluster will come on even tho the high beams aren't on....it also happens if i'm rolling up one of the windows and i keep the switch down after the window is all the way up.  i've been thinking it is a ground issue but i'm not sure.

The lights in the SW are from the turn signal switch brushes not contacting well. The turn signal switch could also be the problem with the hud. the hud is more sensitive to inputs and reacts faster to the malfunction of the switch. Even though they are not directly related.

I asked this same question about a year ago (I think?!?) and never got a definite answer.  My car does the same thing but I don't have to be going at highway speeds.  Mine does it at all speeds.  If I remember correctly it only does it on the first brake application.  Meaning I can't just sit there and have the HUD lights blink over and over with every brake application.  There has to be some time (not sure exactly how long) between brake applications to have it happen again.

that's exactly what mine does too.  interestingly, i swapped my steering column out a couple weeks ago but the problem is still there.  i know my car has some ground issues underhood, hopefully that will fix it.  if anyone here finds the problem, please post!
thanks
