Just making a post where everything can state their performance goals for their TGP/TSTE if they so desire.  Please state in terms of hp, ET, etc. what you want to accomplish w/ your car.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With my 1990 TGP, I'm basically planning to modify the car enough to make it consistently run mid-high 13's in the quarter mile, that's as far as I plan on going w/ it.  If I acquire another TGP that isn't in pristine condition, I plan to shoot for 12's or more in it..I have some things planned for a future project TGP that I wouldn't dare do to my current car.

I figured I would make this post since more people here have acquired TGP's and since I don't believe we've had a similar post in a while(last I can remember is the post I made titled something to the nature of "what do you have planned for *your* TGP"..it could stand to be brought to the top as well for those wishing to update their progess and whatnot).

I just wanna go 13's.  13.999 or 13.000 is the same thing to me.  One of those or anywhere in between and I will be happy.

However, it would be nice to pick up another TGP I will try to get both to run about 14.40's before I try to dip one into the 13's.

i'm lookin for at least 350 lbs of TQ,

then trap speed is not as important to me as power, and TQ is more fun than HP and 330 HP would be nice.................and that is my plans for power............will need another post to tell all my plans for mods/upgrades.................... my car will be THE BADDEST car on this board! wether or not its the fastet i dont care, but it will be the meanst lookin TGP ever!

The red car= I just want to put it back together.    The auto, 14.999 would make me happy.  It's not my fast one, so I don't really care about it.  I will have a reliable auto pristine TGP (w/ a nasty tranny)  to take to car shows and show off.  Then there was Black Sunshine   My goals are this:
1) Make it as fast as I can before the track shuts down this year.
2) When it does shut down, start modding
3) Make a streetable 12 second TGP
4) Use it as a test car to help out alot of other people.
5) Mark my words:  I believe that this car is capable of mid 13's if I get it tuned right.  That being said, 13.5 is my goal for this season.  BUT* I need to get it put back together to start tuning it.
(Disclaimer:  IF the motor doesn't blow up first, it can be a 13 second car...)

thanks for the reply

I'm going to try and get at least 400-450 HP (if posible) out of the 3.1 liter. I know that may sound crazy but I have a R E A L L Y  heavy foot and a very bad need for speed   :vamp:  .

aluminum block.
port and polished clylinder heads, and ported U&L intake manifolds.
bigger throttle body.
t3/t4 turbocharger?.
front mount intercooler.
racing camshaft.
no catalitic converter.
new exhaust system.
bigger fuel injectors.
5-speed transmission.

you guys get the idea.

Just to let you in on some info. I have a 1967 Plymouth that WILL be pushing 700 Hp when I'm finished it 8) . ( and thats the truth)
1990 TGP: stock minus the K&N air filter and high flow cat
1999 Oldsmobile Aurora: What a step up from my 95 Monte Carlo

Have you ran it w/ your 17's on yet? Do they provide better grip then your old tires did?

In its current configuration with trimmed T25 it is awesome on these small short curvy roads, and I find traction to be a limiting factor.  Can play with the smaller BMW's (not M series  ) easily.  The Ford Escorts seem to be really quick arond here, must be the rally influence

Saw a F40 Lambo tonight who "hit it" as he was going past me.......WOW - that car just dissapeared

I am finding that octane is effecting performance also......looking for Zylene...... May order some Tarco from ZZP

An F40 is a Ferrari, not a Lamborghini.

QuoteHave you ran it w/ your 17's on yet? Do they provide better grip then your old tires did?

I've ran them a couple times at the track so far. I can floor it off the line, then I'll reach 30mph or so RIGHT when full boost hits, and the tires will still break loose . Mind you, I'm running 235/45/17 Nitto 555 Extreme ZR-Rated tires. I chose to run 235 instead of 245 because my new wheels are only 7" wide and not 8", and that they are tucked in a bit more then stock, even with spacers .

My biggest problem is my 60ft, I really need to learn on how to launch this car. I'm getting 2.3s the vast majority of the time. I could easily drop .2 off of my e.t. with a better 60ft.

My second biggest problem, is that my track slopes uphill at about the 1000ft mark. I could drop another .1-.2 off my times by going to a better track. Norwalk is probably the best track in my area, but a bit far to drive. Like 2-3 hours worth.

My 3rd problem, I really need to stop racing with a full tank of gas , lol.

twinturbosedan

i'm at the point that all i want to do is bolt all of my TGP engine parts onto my 220,000 mile NA 3.1 'T' motor and run the damn thing with full manifold pressure to the wastegate until the new clutch is broken in, then crank it up with a grainger valve up to to 10psi or till the motor blows whichever comes first.  in the meantime i will be rebuilding the 'V' engine with lower compression pistons and a bigger T3 turbo and supporting mods of course.

i have a severe lack of interest mostly because my Lebaron GTS is already in the low 15/high 14 second range and i don't think i'll ever get my TGP powered 5-speed Cutlass faster or even as fast as the GTS....rebuilt 'V' engine or not.  if i had a real TGP (or more like a TSTE) i think the interest would be there....until then i'm all about my Turbo Chrysler and its upcoming 3-bar cal
