All the lights on my HUD stay lit all the time now - has this happened to anyone else before, what is the fix?

Thanks,
Thomas

OUCH bud.. Sounds like the test routine is stuck on.... Its a bad unit.. You might have to start looking for a replacement.. But go ahead and email Shawn Lin on W-body.com and see what he knows about this particular issue.

Arrivederci!!!!!!!!!!!

You could always try the resoldering trick.  :?:

Sent an e-mail to Shawn Lin - he said resoder or that the unit was bad.  are there instructions for resoldering this somewhere? Or do I just heat up every connector (solder point) and call it good?

Tom,

You can basically use the instructions for the dash cluster resolder instructions on W-body. But I would not resolder any resister points unles you have a low heat solder.. A high wattage solder might burn out the resisters with too much heat.... I would go after all the IC chip locations and resolder them first.

for that matter, I would not really use a non-regulated iron on any board-level fixes for anything - those "radio=shack-specials" will heat to the point of eqilibrium, approximately 1100 deg F. That makes those irons great for lifting pads, damaging IC's, and causing headaches. Use a regulated iron at about 700 deg F and you'll be golden :)

Twalt...went to A1 this last weekend and none of the 9 GP's in there had a HUD. Anywhere else that you might know would have it? Need to go over in the Las Vegas Street area this weekend anyway so I do not mind looking... 8)
