has anyone here added a manifold distribution block to the TGP plenum?  i ordered a 4?& 3/4"?x?1"?x?1" McMaster-Carr 6-port manifold distribution block today for my GTS and would like to do the same with my TGP engine.

part #: 5469K151

description: Aluminum Distribution Manifold 6 Outlets, 1/4" NPT Inlet X 1/8" NPT Outlet

it looks like this:

i would probably get a shorter 4-port block for my TGP plenum.  i am looking for a way to eliminate the hard plastic line that is used stock on the TGP engine.  it would basically centralize the FPR, MAP, BOV, wastegate, and boost gauge sources all into one block mounted on the plenum somewhere.  i was thinking of putting it where the AIT is and then relocating the AIT sensor, but i don't really want to put it way over on the passenger side of the engine....i would prefer it to be closer to the TB.  if i don't use ABS can i use the existing port at the back (firewall side) of the plenum?  any other ideas?  thanks

The cleanest spot on a TGP would be on the rear of the intake manafold...that bong on the back where the Vacume brakes hose goes to on N/A 3.1s. Im tapping there. Other than that...next to the TB, where the Vacume modulator connects. I got too many linse webing off the TB...looks nasty especialy with the silicone holding it together.

well here is what i'd like to do.  i'm not using EGR so i'll have a blockoff plate on the manifold.  i'm wondering if i could maybe drill and tap the plate with a 3/8" NPT hole and mount a short 4-port block there.  i could use the vacuum modulator location (since i have a manual trans) but i doubt there is enough room there for a vacuum block.

That's an excellent idea.  Those vacuum lines can be a real pain sometimes (at least to me).

did you ever end up doing this? I would guess not since you just pulled the engine.. I would just love to organize vacuum lines a bit and would like to know more about this.

I've got the same (I think) manifold, and It's taken a backseat to MANY other things.  But I highley suggest buying the fittings when you order the manifold.  I'm having a helluva time getting the fittings.  Lowe's, Menard's etc. don't have them.
