I went and got an oil change and also put in a new air filter.  and the message display still says "change oil"  and "change air filter".  Is the display on a counter (and needs to be reset) or does it have sensors that can tell if you need an oil change or a new air filter.  What do I do?

This thing is a pain in the royal ...., but with a little experimentation and patience you can stumble through it. It requires manual reset when you do the maintenance, and you can program the intervals for oil change, tire rotation, or whatever else there is. The compas is kinda neat, easy to set, park north, push north cal, then press the other calibrate button, and drive in a very slo......ww fairly tight circle, and when it sees all the cardinal points, it will inform you it is cal'd, and is fairly accurate then on.

The reminders can be manually reset w/ the reset button, the trick is to wait for the message to finish updating/scrolling before trying to modify the interval.

Hope this helps, patienc is a virtue, I have tried to set this thing waiting for a stop light and there just isn't enough time, so spend some time in the driveway.
