last night i was cleaning my TGP oil pan and had to remove the two 10mm nuts that hold the drain tube to the oil pan itself.  is there supposed to be an o-ring or a gasket there?  when i removed it i could see a small tappered piece there but i wasn't sure if it was just an old brittle squashed o-ring if it was supposed to be like that?  should i just clean it up and maybe use a little RTV or do i need to buy a new o-ring?

TIA

It's an o ring. You can get them at most any part store, not by part number but out of there bulk o ring tray. Don't remember the size I just tried different sizes until I got the right one.

thanks Jud.  i'll just bring the drain tube down to NAPA and get the right size.
