Well I had gotten up to 2 pages on air flow info I have heard of and read in mags and engineering books and such that would really explain all that is going on with air flow around the front of a vehicle but also at the sides and more importantly underneath :!:    But it was too much for this old brain to keep composing, and maybe too much info for here so will just say; it has scoops that makes the nice cold outside air around the outside of the car go into the brake area, instead of the hot engine bay area that is blasting around in the pressure zone under the car blowing onto the brakes, I mean racers add air inlets from outside the car as in the frontal area of the vehicle for cold air, or the side of the vehicle, like the air these scoops are looking to grab :) but more so to overcome the pressure zone under the car and there by the brakes.  And since the air flow with these scoops is going into the rim, and onto the brakes, there is no chance of air coming out, i.e. THAT CONTAINING brake dust :x .  It works really well, had them on my first TGP in 1990 till 1994 when I sold it, hardly every had to do the crosslace with a small brush  in and out and in and out  , which was a pain but I liked all the time I spent with that car 8) With the inserts keeping out what we see as brake dust is nothing as compared to the super sticky molten brake matter that comes off while braking hard, that shit sticks like a bitch to the clear coating, and threatens the finish of that clear coating as you attempt to remove it/clean this hot brake matter off, another effect I was happy to get :)

Part number 1316 for the TSTE and 1320  for the TGP.
YES, that is correct, they have different inserts for the rims of each car, not some universal attempt

So, it works great, had them on other cars too, only issue is if you are rough with them, the powder coat will come off, so treat them well and they do well in return :) .  And I think they are only $30 a pair, last I checked, and Tire Rack and Discount Tire and many others carry them!

Hey Jeff, another alternative is to install ceramic disc brake pads. Installed a set on my honey's 2001 Pathfinder, that she/I wash every 3 days because she hates dirty wheels. NO more brake dust on the wheels and excellent stopping properties. Got them from O'Reily's Auto Parts, a little higher than the Raybestos semi metallic plus but less wear/abuse on  the disc. I will go ceramic with all 5 of my vehicles from here on. Just MHO...T

I got some ceramics and posted about it here a few years ago. and was surprised to see others already had them   .
Seems like the people on this board are generally pretty forward thinking in nature.

Ceramics do leave some dust on the wheels though and never will do what the Kleenwheels product does.
