I order my K&N filters and they send me only one filter, and the invoice shows the RU-1390, then it halfway shows the invcoice for my 62-1010 breather then cuts off before the number, as if they ran out of ink, what the hell

oh, isnt this fucking wonderful, i decide hay, just leave the airbox till it get but put the filter on the turbl, i do, and it barley fits (Wich i was told by many people to get) and it FUCKING RIPS whata joke k&n filters are

you ripped the neck when you were putting it on the turbo inlet?

The 1390 is a close fit. I had to trim the neck of ours down about a half inch (if not more) to get it to fit without coming in contact with the IC.

Well some electrical tape later and its on fine, im going to probably use a tire repair kit to fix the rubber neck, i put in my Free195, Man this car hauls ass now, its so much more responsive, and quick, and the turbo noise in awsome, ohh what an AWSOME 5$ mod!

How did the filter actually get ripped? My 1390 fits fine. It does slightly touch the IC, but it doesn't come in contact hard enough to get bent or anything since my upper and lower mounts are in good shape and don't allow a whole lot of movement.

Just let me know if you need any changes to the chip.   ;D

Ah, turns out, i had the freakin clamp just a LITTLE crooked, so it started to rip. it does slightly touch the intercooler, but doesnt bend or anything.

And skalor, im very satisfied with the chip! Thanks alot for it

Iv done the Trans modulator, Altenator, Olil dran line, serp belt, and PCV so far (Not mods, jsut repairs) but being pretty rookie for automotive work, im getting along, the filter install wasnt hard at all, just pissed me off that it ripped, they should use like silicone instead of rubber, the rubber neck seems really flimsy, my real mod would be the Chip, wich was pretty easy, i found a rats nest under the Big plastic fender well cover, lol!

PCV sounds like, oh, what a loser thats so easy....anyone whos done a 2.8/3.1 knows better, LOL i had to rock the bastard forward, THEN it still wouldnt come off the hose, i had my dad in there with needlenose pliers and ripped that sucker off, lol. And the Trans Vac modualtor had be stumped cause no one told me it was different from the n/a one, serp and altenator were easy as hell, and the drain line was easy...till my DIS plug broke and its zip tied on now, lol! But yea, im gettin along, not much actually has broken on the car, im lookin forward to doing the crossover pipe!
