thats not how it mounts :icon_confused: is that even a TGP? it mounts like that but lower on the bumper. looks close enough to me though, they are kind of hard to line up perfect. I had to drill holes for mine so I know trust me. it didnt line up perfect so I might have to adjust it slightly. but you should see a few of those grooves above the plate if its mounted right.

Yes, that's how it mounts up, and no it's not TGP. It's still the first Gen B4U, thus the front plate mounts the same.
Every other first gen B4U car I've seen had it mounted there as well.

hmm i wonder if i should just carry my plate with me and see how long it takes for a cop to notice, my friends 2000 GPSE hasnt had the front plate on it since she had it, and shes never gotten in trouble for it.

Just backing up Luke on saying that's the actual factory mounting position. ;) My BYP kitted '93 has the stupid ass plate holder in that position. :icon_rolleyes: I would remove it, but the two holes that are drilled into the bumper have actually bulged out over the years.

so the plate is supposed to be right over the left turn signal?  seems kinda wierd they would do that.

btw, did the factory put the mounting holes in the bumper or was that something the dealership would do after they got the cars?  i was wondering if maybe it depended on what state the car was sold in regarding local laws requiring a front plate.  my STE had no holes at all so i just put the plate in the dash.

My god it is a license plate bracket folks... we are not mounting a FMIC! :icon_rolleyes:  Get the bracket and hold it in place...where does it fit properly?

Here are the factory holes from My TGP bracket that was sent to Canada because I give a flying crappola if it is illegal to run without a front plate in Colorado!! ;)

I'm really not sure whether the dealerships or the factory put the plate brackets on. In my case, the bracket on my '93 doesn't make much sense since Georgia doesn't require front license plates(they didn't back in 1993 when the car was purchased either. My parents bought it at a dealership about 20mins from where I currently live).

The reason alot of states require front license plates is not because of visibility, its for POP radar, followed by standard radar. They are instructed to aim for license plates because it gives the best reflective surface for a acurate tag. I once was a cop, and thats the way it was explained to us..
