So that means the TGP is being sold. I already have a buyer on the board here that has serious interest for one of his freinds. But beyond that, I am going to enjoy my new ride LOL...

Now for what I bought...

2000 GMC Yukon Denali. Every option except for a moonroof, DVD system. It has a pearl pewter paint (factory) and 75000 miles. Never thought I would own one of these. But the price was right. I never thought that a SUV could ride as nice as these do. Its almost too soft. Just almost to cooshy. Got the financing, and took the Yukon for its first grocery run LOL.

My wife and I sat at the dealer for about 5 hours tonight going over the pros and cons of this model and that model. We finally came down to a decision inbetween 5 vehicles....

1) 99 Jeep Cherokee, 63k miles, 4.0, no options, just power windows and locks. Very cool gold paint job on rims and body thou. And no warenty. Price of 9000 and new tires.
2) 00 Cadillac Escalade, 90k miles, 5.7, fully loaded except it had a VCR system, and not a DVD, and no moonroof. Gold paint. No warenty, price 16000 and bald tires.
3) 01 Chevy Tahoe, 100k miles, 6.0, fully loaded except no DVD system. Maroon paint, no warenty, Price 15000 sitting on 20's and new tires.
4) 04 GMC Envoy. 75k miles, 4.2, fully loaded, no DVD, Black over gold paint, no warenty, price 15500 with new tires.
5) 00 GMC Yukon Denali, 75k, 5.7, fully loaded, no DVD/MoonRoof, WARENTY, price 15800 with new tires, and rechromed rims.

The warenty thing was the deal breaker for me. They offered me a LIFETIME warenty on the motor, as long as I maintain it properly. The others, the only real contender was the Jeep. The caddi was basicly the Yukon, in a Cadi badge. They looked identical. but with no warenty and more miles? The 200 bucks diference in price didnt justify it. The Envoy was out when I first sat in it. My head hit the roof. And the Tahoe, even thou it had the moonroof, and the paint color I liked. With 100k on it, no warenty, and simalar price. It just wasnt worth it, even thou it did have some nice rims, they werent practical for where I work. They would have disapeared quick.

So thats the Story, stay tuned for the new owner of the TGP. As soon as the insurnace company gets done dicking around, he is coming to get it (hopefully).

Mods, if this is in the wrong section, I apologize. Wasnt sure where to put it.

The wife had a 2000 and 2003 Denali, both new.
Nice ride, no problems with either. Lousy fuel mileage..
NO resale value. Traded even for an 05 ELEMENT.

Hmm, wonder if they would warranty it still if you slapped a Procharger on it :icon_mad:

Congrats on the purchase, hopefully the gas mileage doesn't get in your shorts too bad :icon_confused:

So the thing lasted all of 186 miles, befor burning to the ground. Yesterday was a bad day..

So after fighting with the dealer, since it was still under their 3 day bumper to bumper warenty, I walked out of the dealer with a 2006 Subaru B9 Tribeca. And the payment was only 28 dollars more a month then the Yukon. I fell better in a new car LOL..

No, its not bad luck on this one. The dealer knew there was a electrical issue in the dash cause you could hear something clicking constantly. And we worked up the deal that it would be fixed at no charge to me. Well, I guess the clicking couldnt wait for me to drop it of tomorow to get it fixed... Luckily for me, I didnt have to report it to my insurnace company because the way that I had it writen up about the issue befor hand. Dealer took the loss on it, and I walked out with the new automobile.. Same term, same rate, just diferent catches, first 3 years are a lease, last 3 years are a purchase. I save about 5000 bucks doing it this way.

sorry that shit happened, don't hear about those trucks burning too often.  Good thing everyone's ok.
How's that Subaru?  I wondered what those things drive like.  What kind of options you get?

It doesn't run anymore.

Optionwise, I didnt get to many options. I had them take off the undercar lighting system for when the doors are open. It came with a cargo tray, roof rack, 5 pass seating, and thats about it. But these things are pretty loaded up from the get go. Standard features: Obviously, since its a Subaru, it came with AWD. Moonroof, keyless entry/tailgate, power windows and lock, AM/FM/CD/MP3 player with steering wheel controls, cruise, tilt, dual power seats, folding rear seats, floor mats, 18 rims, H6 boxer 6 cylinder, traction control, 6 side air bags gen III, auto dim/compass mirror, sport shift auto 5 speed tranny, rear 20% tint, HID headlights with foglights, and I am sure a host of other things...

How they drive, it definetly has more power than I thought it would. It has a 3.0 rated at 250 horse, I dont know the TQ rating. Manual says to run premium gas, but the dealership manager said not to bother cause the ethanol base gas will make up for the diference on the lower octane rating. I did some research on this, and its true for high compression engines. it gets 23 hwy, and 18 city (EPA estimated), not bad. One guy that was bringing his in for oil change service says he gets 28 at 65 MPH. Very responsive wheel. And the stereo will take ALOT of getting used to.

Some of the options they offer I didnt get: Underside lighting, leather, NAV, 6 CD MP3 player, 7 passenger seating, heavy duty floor mats, and thats about it. Base model price starts at about 31500, fully loaded is 39800. So there isnt to many options. I think the NAV sys with 6 cd/MP3 player is a 2000 dollar option by itself, leather is probly another 2000 bucks, and the 7 pass thing is 1000 bucks. Underside lighting is only a couple hundred, floor mats are 100 i think. I am sure there are other options, but as I mentioned, they come pretty loaded up from the get go.
