new clutch pics

here is a pic of my pressure plate and a pic of the stage 3 street/ strip clutch :) if you want to have the power you gotta have a clutch that can take it...... flywheel is gunna take a ass kicking though lol cant wait for boost again, should be able too hook up alot better now




the tranny is out right now still but ill get some pics up of the nice clean rebuilt one soon

Make sure you seat the clutch in properly or she will chatter like a MoFo and that is no fun when you get stuck in traffic or take off on an uphill from a start.

ya i was thinking of getting aq flywheel but decided against it as i will most likely have the tranny out again next winter.

i dont think that carbon clutch would work for my car as i have the getrag 284 in my car

With the stronger pressure plate, the clutch will be more like an on/off switch.......ahhh nevermind.

They're not as bad as some people would like to think. I've driven several Mustangs, etc., etc. with similar performance clutches and didn't have any problem driving any of them on the street or at the track. Most people complain about pedal effort with race/performance clutches, I haven't found a clutch that's "too" stiff in any vehicle I've driven.

I have a Spec stage 3 clutch on my T-bird. WHen it was new with resurfaced flywheel..it was VERRRY catchy. You have to play with the engagemnet alot at first to get used to it for street driving on take offs. Its like less than a 1/8th of an inch to disangage and engage the clutch unlike my old one which fet like you have to completly let go for it to engage and between that you can slip it to take off.  I've already learned to slip it in takeoffs at the track to build boost while im taking off. I don't think that made sence  :icon_rolleyes: .

Well anyway..Its a good dam clutch.
Turbocharged 88 IMSA Beretta GTX <-dam stright.

well the clutch works great, broke an axle, but it was my fault (had to have snapd during install beacuse didnt even get .3 miles with it) anyways put in a new alxe (one i had laying around thak god) installed that and drove it around for a bit, damn its catchy but really not bad at all, feels sorta normal really (not an on off switch by all means) wow though, nice big 3rd gear chirps even :) Dave tells me hes got a stage 3 as well and i dont think he mids it either.

well worth the money if i dont say so myself

Everyone I know complains about how shitty they are on the street and I just don't get it.  My T/A has a race clutch in it and everytime someone else drives it they stall it the first time because of its apparantly harsh engagement.  It feels normal to me I just don't see the issue.  It seems to engage 100% normal to me around town, but yet grips like a mofo if I feel the need to sidestep.  But then I get in someones everyday 5 speed and I'm like "why is your clutch so light?"  :icon_lol:
