The Burning Rom

It's been a while since I've been on the forums. Took me a while to find you guys again...with the new domain and forums. They look good though.

I don't remember if I posted about it or not way back when, but I picked up a 2nd TGP for under $600 2 years back. The turbo and a few other things were missing, but the rest of the car was all there...though a bit rundown. Tan Leather...sunroof...cd. I pulled the motor out of it shortly after buying it. The pics are here: http://www.neonix.org/nero/tgp2/motorpics/ Then the car sat outside for a few months. When it got closer to winter I brought it back in and pulled the transmission. Pics here: http://www.neonix.org/nero/tgp2/tranny/ To my surprise, both are reman. units.  :icon_biggrin: The car has been sitting in a barn ever since then...waiting for me to get enough money to have the engine bay painted and put everything back in it. Same goes for the motor. It's been sitting on a stand since I pulled it. Here are some pics from when I tore it down: http://www.neonix.org/nero/tgp2/motor/ Since those pics, I've replaced all the valve seals and 1 bad valve. I've also painted the block, front cover, crank pulley, and tensioner. It's currently on the stand waiting for intake gaskets and an oil pump that must be made out of gold...at least based on what GM is asking for it  :icon_rolleyes:

Other than that, I've been playing with my new toy :icon_twisted:  http://www.neonix.org/nero/pictures/smoke_show/

I don't know how I ever lived with a truck before that only had 8 cylinders :icon_lol: Picked it up in Florida last year. In other words, no rust. It was a long drive back to WI, but it was worth it. The underside of it looks better than most trucks around here that are 1/4 of it's age.  :icon_cool:

I was going to pull the motor and tranny from my new car. glad I didnt because now I am driving it instead of having it all ripped apart. good to see the project is coming along though and hope it goes back together soon and you get to drive it.

Not the greatest....still looking for a job  :icon_confused: I've actually been looking for about a year now. Two college degrees doesn't get you anywhere it seems  :icon_rolleyes: Or maybe it's just the area I'm in.  :icon_neutral:

Thinking about moving out to the east coast...not sure yet though. I don't know how I'd get all my vehicles out there
