noob over from w-body

well i finally got around to joining over here since there isn't really much good performance info and whatnot over on w-body for this motor and not a lot of people who know anything about it. just browsing around and i'm already pleased. anyway i have a 1989 cutlass supreme with the 3.1T and a factory 5spd. here's the mods so far(still a lot to do) and a few pics

yeah, that's definetely a "V" motor, or at least disguised as one.

How did you get your upper intake and front valve cover to look so mint?

1990 Pontiac Turbo Grand Prix, GT2871R 475HP-capacity turbo, built 4T60, 28# Injectors, DIY Ostrich realtime chip tune, JeffM Crossover, Cold A/C, BoostValve.com manual controller @ 14 PSI.  200,000 mi factory original motor.  Best time on T25 @ 11 PSI: 14.78 @ 93 MPH.
1991 GMC Syclone: 11.79 @ 114 MPH. Stock with PT51 turbo plus SMC alcohol injection and tuning, 24 PSI

yeah it was a lot of time spent with sandpaper and steel wool. but for the rough parts on the plenum a wire wheel on a drill is fast and effective. heres what it used to look like:
